Dear Diary,
This situation started so unexpectedly! First off, when we arrived, the hosts announced that they had a twist, that two people were BEING ELIMINATED!!!! We were all shocked to the core. I already knew that Tom and Jake were not going. As much as I was suspicious of Tom, I wanted him to stay so I could continue investigating his hesitation and his mask and why exactly he wears it, and Tom and Jake are both strong players, I think we can all tell. Dan might have some strategies for us, so not him. I formed a bit of a bond with Fiore, so I didn't want her to go, either. It was either Grett or Miriam, and since Grett was physically stronger, I voted out Miriam, although it ended up being Fiore voted off the team. Although I was sad to see her go, my teammates thought otherwise, which I didn't appreciate.
Suddenly, the hosts made another announcement: she wasn't going home, she was switching to the purple team! The "eliminated" contestant on team purple, Gabby, was switching to our team. After they walked to the other team's carpet, the hosts announced the challenge, and I could tell it was capture the flag, with paintball guns. I liked the reward the winning team was getting, too. I don't camp very often, but sleeping bags are nice.
When we got back to camp, Tom explained our strategy, saying that I would join him, Jake, and Dan in the attack, while Miriam, Grett, and our new teammate Gabby, would guard the flag. We heard the other team as me and the other boys ran and Tom left to steal their flag, telling us to attack. He is surely mysterious with his quick and sneaky moves, and he keeps himself low w even though it's not a real, what's the thing...agency job.
We started shooting at the other team, but one of the members, the lady with the Girl Scout outfit I mentioned on the bus earlier, attacked us shooting right at our protective glasses, and we couldn't see anything. We got the paint off our glasses and before we knew it, the hosts announced the winner-purple team. Somehow Tom stole the wrong flag. I guess as whatever he is, he's too quick to realize his full surroundings.
Once the purple team left the central zone with their sleeping bags, our team looked at Tom. Dan asked him how he got the wrong flag, but Tom had no idea. Miriam then scolded him for being too quick to judge an object. He apologized and promised he would do better at the challenges in the future.
It's now the evening, and I plan on bonding with my team more, so I'll probably see you just before I go to bed. So far, my first day at camp has been a bit dramatic as the game gives out, but it's been fun, especially getting to shoot paintballs, a very creative idea for protection in the capture the flag game. I'll see you later tonight!
Your friend,
Drew
