Team Bonding

Hello Diary,

This is the last entry for today. I got out of the tent to find out newest member, Gabby, sitting. I wrote down and asked her where everyone else was. She said everyone but Miriam was out finding food, and Miriam was just sleeping somewhere. She looked sad, so I asked her what was wrong. She told me that she made a new friend on the other team and wanted to see her. I hesitated, not knowing what to write next. Eventually, I didn't think it was a good idea and wrote that to her in my notebook. She agreed, saying she must be asleep by now. However, she did thank me for checking in on her. 

Tom, Jake, Dan, and Grett soon returned back to camp with plenty of food for the night. I was surprised at how they could quickly find stuff, as we've only been here for even less than 12 hours. I think Tom did most of the searching, though, and he's quick, too quick, to notice his surroundings and stuff. 

That's when I realized I had forgotten to tell Gabby about Fiore. I ran back to her and wrote, "You know, I actually made a friend here before she swapped to the other team."

"The little girl?"

"Yes, she's very nice." I wrote.

"Well, maybe we can be friends here too!"

"Really? You mean it?" I wrote with a huge smile.

"Of course!" Gabby said. "We can be buddies!"

I signed thank you to her as Grett came up to us. 

"What are you guys up to?"

"Nothing!" Gabby replied quickly. "We're just waiting for the food to be served!"

"Ok, well, don't try discussing ANYBODY on the other team. We don't care for them. Got it?"

"Uh, of course, Grett!" Gabby said, flashing a fake smile, before Grett left to get some food.

"She's a bit weird." I wrote to Gabby.

"Yeah, I guess...I mean, she's a bit bossy..." she says before she walks off and Tom, Jake, and Dan walk towards me. 

With a confused look on my face seeing Gabby leave suddenly, I decided not to chase after her. I feel like she had a fight with Grett when me and the boys ran off during the challenge. The boys wave to me and asked who I was again, writing that my name was Drew. Then me and the other boys sat around the campfire while the girls decided to sleep early. We talked about random boy stuff for two hours straight before heading to bed ourselves, well, for me, I'm heading to bed right now, actually. What a crazy first day this has been at camp.
