Dear Diary,
Tonight was definitely the most amazing night I've had at Disventure Camp, even if I'm not actually there.
So I talked with Lill, and we agreed to do the date tonight. However, we had to deal with Grett if she came back to the motel. Luckily, that didn't happen, but just in case, we did some training on Nick and Dan and then sent them outside the motel to patrol the area just in case Grett had another 'summon Gabby' trick up her sleeve.
Lill and I arrived at the coffee shop at 3 to set the setting for Will and Ashley's date. The words 'Night 20' hung up on top of the table's wall next to it. We put flowers in the middle and Lill made some spaghetti and I got their dishes and water together. Three hours later, everything was set and ready.
Lill lit up the candles before Will arrived, looking fancy in a suit. "Wow. You look nice, Will. Ashley's gonna love that look at you." Lill told him. He thanked her and I showed him their table for the night. A few minutes later, Ashley came in this beautiful baby blue dress with a small cowboy hat on her head, not nearly as big as the one she usually wore. Her hair was all the way down, wavy, and had daisies on it. Will looked at her in awe as I showed her to their table. Will got up, took her hand, and pulled her seat for her. She giggled a bit, "Thanks, Will." Then he returned to his seat.
I walked up to them and wrote "This is your meal for the evening. Enjoy!" Then I ran to find Lill in the kitchen. "Have they arrived?" I did a thumbs up and also wrote "Do you have meatballs? They might like those."
She decided that spaghetti should be enough. We should leave them to talk and have their dinner. I agreed with another thumbs up, then both of us looked at the coffee shop's camera. That tale of catching the same string of spaghetti? It worked for them. We saw they grabbed the same string and their lips touched accidentally, although they laughed at it. "Yeah, we should leave them be." I wrote to Lill. She agreed, and we turned the camera off to check on Nick and Dan.
"How are you doing, Nick?" Lill asked.
"Not great, but so far, no Grett."
"That's good."
Then we went to Dan.
"Oh, hey guys. I had to sit down for a minute."
"Have you seen a sign of Grett?"
"No, thank goodness. Can you believe it's almost seven?"
"Wait, already?" Lill said.
She and I ran back to the coffee shop, and we heard a squeal. It was Ashley. "Of course I'll be your girlfriend!" she exclaimed. We didn't get to see anything else, but we for sure heard that, and it was very special.
A few minutes later, Will came in the kitchen with a huge smile on his face. "She's my girlfriend! Thank you guys so much for this! Thank you, Lill for supporting me, and Drew for your advice. I couldn't have done it without you two!"
"You're welcome. It's nothing, really." Lill said.
But to me, this night was really worth something. I'll never forget it.
Your friend,
Drew
