I got back to Kain's house after my classes, letting myself in with the spare key he gave me.
I still can't believe I'm stuck living here.

I look around for a while, finding that I had the house to myself tonight.
Good. I needed a break from his annoying ass.

I grab myself a drink before heading upstairs, getting some assignments finished up.

Once I'm finally done, I climb into the soft bed, wrapping myself in blankets.
I smile as I sink into the mattress, putting a movie on my laptop as I relax.

I missed this feeling.
I didn't have to worry about Andrew coming home and taking his anger out on me.
To not be on edge all the time...

I must have drifted off during the movie as I wake up hours later, my laptop still in front of me.
I feel my stomach growling.

A midnight snack never hurt.

I make my way downstairs to the kitchen, all the lights turned off in the dark house.
Finally, I find my way there, nearly getting lost in the maze that is this house.
It's fucking ridiculous.

As I walk around the corner, I gasp out as I'm yanked back into a broad chest. A large arm hooks around my upper body, not letting me move as I feel a gun pressed against my jaw.

"Kain?" I get out softly- trying to squirm away.
The gun drops and I feel the arm loosen slightly.

"Fucking hell Drea- do you know what time it is?"
"Apparently the time to point a fucking gun at me" I roll my eyes, turning on a dim light above the kitchen sink.
"Sorry- didn't realize it was you. What the hell are you doing at 3am?" He grumbled
"I wanted a snack"

I grab a carton of ice cream from the freezer turning around to face him.
Oh-
I almost run face first into his shirtless body, unable to keep myself from glancing down the hard planes of muscle down to where his sweatpants hang loosely on his hips.
Get your shit together Drea.

When I force myself to look back up I already see the cocky smirk on his lips.
"Don't." I narrow my eyes at him, grabbing a spoon before I open the tub of ice cream.
Cookie dough.

"It's okay to look you know..." he teases coming beside me with his own spoon.
I notice how his eyes slowly go up my legs, taking in every inch of skin before they reach the hem of my t shirt at the top of my thighs.
And I hate the shiver that goes through my body cause of it.

He then goes and takes a bite of my ice cream, his smirk growing.
"I don't like to share." I pull the tub closer to me, shooing him away.
"I don't share either princess." He places another spoonful into his mouth.

"Good. Then find your own food." I snap back, grabbing the carton and moving to walk away.
Before I can, he pulls me back, taking the carton from my hands and placing it back on the counter between us.

"But this is my house. And everything in this house is mine." He looks down at me and all the sudden I'm having trouble finding the words.

"But I'll share my ice cream with you... since I'm such a giving person." He grins, snapping me out of it.
"Giving. I would've chosen a different word." I shrug, hopping up on the counter as I continue to eat the ice cream.
"Oh yeah? What's that?" He raises a brow, challenging.

"Imbecile" I smirk, patting him on the cheek.
I take one last bite of ice cream before shoving the carton back into his hands.
"Thanks for the ice cream, such a gracious host" I tell him, walking back to bed.
"Goodnight princess."

It was finally the weekend and as much as I wanted to sleep in all morning, I had to make it to visiting hours to see my brother.

I grabbed something quick to eat and took one of Kain's cars, leaving before he woke up.
Must be tired after nearly shooting me.

I patiently wait at the metal table for my brother, fidgeting with my fingers.
A smile breaks out on my face when I see him,
"Luke" I look down at his cuffed hands, making me frown.
"Hey lil sis, finally come to check up on me?"

I laugh, rolling my eyes,
"You know I've been busy with school the past few weeks. I promise I'll come more now." I reassure him.

"So? How is everything here... doing ok?" I ask softly
"You know I'm the one who should be worrying about you... I'm doing just fine as always." He smiles, taking my hand.

"I know... it's just- I can't believe you ended up here. Kain should have never-"
"Kain is my best friend. I've told you over and over again this was my decision. You can't hate him for this." He reasons
"Fuck yeah I can Luke." I sigh, leaning back.

I should tell him.
"Um, speaking of the devil... I got myself into a bit of a situation. Andrew- well, he's out of the picture."
Luke's eyes narrow.
"Never fucking liked the guy. Good."

"I may have had to call Kain to help me handle the situation..." I look up at him, hesitating
"Good. I trust him to make sure everything is in order." He nods, letting out a deep breath.

"And now your best friend has me stuck living with him before I can figure out something else."
I sigh, annoyed at the smile that forms on my brother's face.
"Oh really? You must be having the best time." He teases.
God- they're both enjoying this too much.

"I can't fucking stand the man Luke, you know this." I groan
"You'll be safe with him though, helps me worry less. And you need to get over your petty bullshit with him anyways. It's time Drea." He tells me, but I don't want to hear it.
I just need to last a bit longer.

The guard comes up, telling us time is up.
"I love you" I tell him, hating saying goodbye.
"I love you too. Come see me again sometime soon. I miss your crazy ass." He smirks, making me laugh.
"And Drea?" I look back up at him
"He's not that bad."
