I'm not sure when Kain brought me upstairs but when I woke up I was curled into his arms.
My head was resting on his shoulder, one of his arms hooked around me.And all I can think about is what he told me yesterday.
Not the fact he told me he'd never let me leave.
Not that he told me to fucking shoot him. That he told me he never stops thinking about me. All the time.
That is unless I'm in his arms.So I lie there for now, letting him have me for a bit longer.
"No attempt to escape me this morning princess?" He questioned, scaring the shit out of me.
I nearly bolt out of his arms just from the sound of his voice.
"Fuck- don't do that shit to me. I thought you were asleep." I sigh, sitting up in the middle of the bed.He grins, his eyes still closed.
"Come on, lay back down with me." He opens up his arms, inviting me in.
I don't move.
"Please." He adds.
Being polite now are we?I hesitate and his eyes open, finding mine.
I smile comes over his face as he looks over me, teasing me to come closer.
"A few more minutes." I mumble, giving in.He seems so pleased with himself as his arms come around me again, pulling me as close as possible.
And I have to remind myself why I can't give in.He told you he'd never let you go Drea.
He'll ruin you just so that he can have you."You don't have to try so damn hard to hate me you know." He tells me, his fingers gently drawing down my spine.
Why is it he's always in my fucking head?"It comes naturally." I whisper, not even believing myself anymore.
He smiles softly, just lying there silently for much longer than the few minutes I allowed him.
"You know, I'm beginning to think you don't work at all. You make bothering me a full time job." I look up at him, watching a smile form on his face.
"I have things to get done... you're just my perfect distraction from everything else in the world." He glides his hand over my hair, smoothing it down.
"Maybe you should stop ignoring your responsibilities and do something besides holding me hostage." I huff, trying to push out of his arms.
He smirks, holding me tighter.
"And leave you here alone and bored all day?" He teases
"I think I'll manage.""I don't think I will."
Drama queen.I roll my eyes, twisting out of his grip.
"You should come with me" He sits up, watching as I get out of bed.
"No chance." I tell him, stretching my arms above my head."I won't be able to focus on anything if I leave you here alone. Just this once." He comes up behind me, trying to coerce me.
"Not happening." I huff"I'll let you sleep in your old room tonight" he leans forward, a pleading look on his face.
"Fine." I sighA wide grin spreads on his lips, and he kisses my shoulder.
"30 minutes." He tells me, walking off.I go get dressed in some jeans and a tank top, pulling my hair out of my face.
Heading downstairs, I made myself some breakfast and coffee, not sure how long we'd be gone for.Kain eventually comes down to meet me, grabbing the keys to one of the cars before opening up my door.
I slip inside, staying quiet for most of the ride.I can't help but wonder now what I was getting myself into...
I knew Kain wouldn't bring me anywhere I could get hurt but still.
I was curious."Relax. You're always thinking too much." Kain tells me, placing a hand on my thigh.
"At least I think."He smirks softly, pulling up to a warehouse surrounded by locked gates.
The doors automatically open as he pulls up, driving inside to the massive building.I step out of the car, following closely behind Kain.
When we walk in it's clear he's well respected. I get a few confused looks, but nobody was going to question Kain bringing me here.A man walks up to him, talking softly about something before stepping back.
Kain leans down to me,
"You can come with me upstairs or walk around. Your choice."
I raise a brow at him,
"Wow, you're giving me a choice? That's new.""Keeping you on your toes princess." He teases
"I'll walk around." I say, and he nods.
"If anyone bothers you. Get me. Okay?"
"Yeah, yeah" I wave him off, going to explore for myself.I have to say I'm a bit surprised by this place.
It's a lot more... organized than I would've expected.
The warehouse is simple and clean, looks just like your regular business.
And I decide I don't need to know what's inside these massive crates of shipments, probably better off that way.The people who work here seem friendly, but maybe that's because they know I came with Kain.
I sit back, and watch everything operate together. Like clockwork.I can see how serious Kain takes this shit.
After a while of waiting around, I notice a man come up and lean against the wall beside me.
"Haven't seen you around here before." He smiles, sipping from a mug of coffee."Just stopping in. I'm Drea." I turn to him
"Joe." He replies.
"Just stopping in you say?" He questions
"Kain brought me. He's a friend." I explain, and he nods in understanding."Ah- surprised he has friends outside of the business honestly." He grins.
"Yeah, he's a fucking asshole most of the time." I reply, making Joe laugh loudly.
"I wouldn't let him hear you say that."His eyes travel over my face, stepping closer to me. I can notice the little dimples forming on his cheeks as he grins.
I shrug,
"Oh I tell him to his face. Frequently."
Joe's eyebrows raise slightly, shaking his head.
"Damn, you've got more balls than me then." He laughs.
"I'm not scared of him." I reply, smiling.Joe straightens up a bit and I feel a large hand come to my lower back.
"Joe, how's everything going processing the new supply?"
His tone seems relaxed but Joe clearly gets the sense to get lost.
"Real well. I'm actually heading back there now." Joe replied."Good, you do that."
Joe quickly nods and walks off, leaving me with Kain.He turns to me, looks down into my eyes as he gently holds my jaw,
"You want to play games with me princess?" He questions.
I look up at him, fighting off a smirk,
"I have no clue what you're talking about.""You let another man in here flirt with you and I'll shoot him. And then I'll fuck you with the gun that killed him." He warns clearly.
And I can't help but imagine it for a moment. Picturing it. Even though I shouldn't."I see the ideas forming in your mind... don't fucking try me princess."
I smirk up at him, reaching my hand around his back and dragging it down slowly, finding his gun tucked behind him.
He looks down at me intrigued as I take it from him, tucking it into the waistband of my jeans."No need to go around shooting people Kain. Try not to lose your cool."
