I make my way downstairs, Kain following closely behind me.
He hands me a plateful of pasta and my mouth instantly waters.

"Never thought you'd be one to cook so much... not very in line with your whole 'macho man' deal." I tease
"Maybe you don't know me as well as you think princess." He smirks, shoving a forkful into his mouth.

"I practically grew up with you always around dragging my brother everywhere... I think I know you pretty damn well."
He smirks,
"Well then that means I know you just as well... like how I knew this is your favorite pasta, or how I can tell when you're lying to me."

"And I know you well enough to still hate you even after you try and wear me down. Pasta won't save you with me." I narrowed my eyes slightly.

"I think I know you better than you know yourself... because I'm breaking down that hatred of yours bit by bit. As for the pasta... I just like keeping my girl fed." He smirks widely, knowing exactly what he's doing.

"Once again, not your girl. And these jokes of yours are getting really fucking old." I reply
He sets down his fork, leaning onto his elbows.
"Jokes? I'm not joking princess. I want you. All the fucking time."

He looks me straight in the eyes when he speaks, making goosebumps appear on my skin.
But I ignore it.

"Kain you want me because I'm in front of you, dangling like a treat you can't have. Don't make it into anything more." I sigh

"No Drea. I've always wanted you. All those times I'd come around when we were younger and you'd glare at me, spitting out those bratty little remarks... you drove me mad. You still fucking do." He grits out.

"Seriously Kain you can't go on saying-"
"Stop fucking fighting me on this before I show you exactly how much I've wanted you all these years." His eyes are dark and the promise in his voice is clear.
I shut my mouth.

He gets up and walks off upstairs, mumbling under his breath something I can't understand.

I don't know what this little game is with him, or what he wants from me but I can't take this much longer.
I clean up the kitchen since I don't think he's coming back down for the night, heading up to my room to get ready to sleep.

Thankfully I had classes the next morning, so that got me out of the house for a while.
I grabbed my things and took one of the cars, driving myself down to campus for my first lecture of the day.

After a few hours, I had a break in my schedule and went to go talk to a now sober Maya.
Seems she still didn't forget about the "yummy looking" man that drove her home and wouldn't stop till I told her everything.

Well... I didn't tell her everything,
But I explained how I'd been living with him for the past few weeks and the way things have gone over recently.

It felt so good to tell someone about what was happening, it was practically eating me up on the inside.

Like the absolute life saver she is, she offers me to stay with her for a few days and let things calm down.

I could kiss her right now with how relived I am. Just a few days away from Kain for me to get my head on straight.
I needed to remind myself exactly who I'm dealing with here.

Once we were both finished with classes for the day, Maya and I went to pick up some tacos and took them back to her place.
We caught up some more, updating each other on everything that's happened over the past few months.
And that led to a bottle of tequila being opened on a Monday night.

It was getting late and I checked my phone that kept buzzing annoyingly.

Kain: Where are you?
Kain: Drea this isn't funny.
Kain: Don't ignore me princess.
Kain: Just tell me you're okay.
Kain: Please.

Oh shit- I giggle, looking over all the missed texts.
Overbearing ass.

Drea: I'm fine. Staying at a friend's place for a few days.
Kain: No.

Who does he think he is?
He can throw a fit as much as he likes, but I'm not coming home.
Partially because I don't want to and partially because Maya and I are halfway through this bottle and having a fantastic time.

I'm nearly falling off my chair laughing when there's a loud knock at the door.
I look to Maya and my eyes widen
It can't be.

I hesitantly get up, making my way to the door to look out the peep hole.
It is. Holy shit.

My mouth drops open and I turn around to Maya who all but screams
"IS IT HIM BITCH?"
"Shh! Be fucking quiet!" I hiss, knowing damn well he heard her.

"It's him. Open up." I hear Kain call out from the other side of the door.
God damn it.
"Go home Kain." I yell back.

"No can do princess. You're going to want to open the door for me." He replies
"Oh yeah? Why would I do that?" I nearly slur.

"Because I'll break the door down if you don't. And you've learned I don't bluff." He remarks
I look back at Maya who motions for me to let him in.
I sigh softly, unlocking the door.

The second I do he pushes through, making me nearly trip over myself in my tipsy state.
Before I can fall, his arm reaches out to grab me, looking over me with a confused expression.

He glances over at the counter and sees the bottle of tequila, putting two and two together.
"Come on, we're going home. Where you belong."
"I want to stay here." I get out, the liquor fueling my confidence.

"I didn't ask." He says simply, grabbing my hand as he drags me to the door.
"Good to see you again Maya. Thanks for keeping my girl company." Kain calls out, making Maya's jaw drop.

"MY GIRL- DAMNN." She laughs, grinning as I get pulled out of her apartment.
I glare at her. So much for helping me.
Kain pulls me along despite my furious protests,
"Stop it! Fucking hell Kain- I don't even have my shoes on!"

He stops for a moment, looking down as I stumble into him.
"Not a problem."
He leans down and picks me up into his arms like it's nothing, carrying me out.
