Justin's POV:

I show up at school with Noelle wrapped around me like a little monkey, her arms snug around my neck and her legs locked around my waist. I wasn't exactly prepared for this, but what else could I do? I got an unexpected call during my free period—Noelle's kindergarten had to shut down because of a fire in the building next door.

There was no way I could miss my test today, so I quickly talked to Susan, the admin lady. She's pretty chill and told me I could bring Noelle along, even offering to watch her herself or suggesting I find a friend to help out during my test. So here we are, heading into the building with Noelle chatting away, all excited about the smoke she saw. I'm holding her close as we weave through the halls, passing the common area, the cafeteria, and classrooms.

As we walk in, I can feel eyes on us—more than usual. It's like we're a walking spectacle, but I try to brush it off and make my way over to where Kendall, Perrie, Louis, Harry, Angelo, Tom, and Jake are hanging out at a table. Their jaws practically hit the floor when they see Noelle.

"Guys, meet my daughter, Noelle," I say, my heart pounding in my chest.

For a second, they're all just staring, processing what I've just said.

"Justin! You have a daughter? What the—wait, what?" Kendall blurts out, completely floored.

After the initial shock wears off, they all start bombarding me with questions, and I give them the rundown of the situation. Once everything's explained, they're all super excited. Noelle instantly gravitates toward Kendall, climbing into her lap, and Kendall looks like she's found a new best friend.

In the half hour before my test, I hang out with the group. The guys, who have to head out soon, take turns playing with Noelle, and it's honestly the sweetest thing I've ever seen. The same guys who normally act all tough are now making funny faces and playing peekaboo like pros.

Harry and Louis, in particular, seem totally smitten with Noelle, and she's loving the attention from them. Watching them together, I can't help but wonder sometimes if there's more going on between those two, but I don't want to pry. If there's something there, they'll tell me when they're ready.

As we're chilling, a few girls from school come over, all smiles and compliments, fussing over me and Noelle. It's like I've suddenly become the most popular guy around just because I have my daughter with me. I mean, I get it—having Noelle with me might make me look more... I don't know, approachable? It's flattering, but also a little overwhelming. Part of me feels bad turning them down. Sometimes I wonder if life would be simpler if I were straight, but that's just not how things are.

When it's almost time for my test, I ask Kendall if she can watch Noelle for a bit, and she's more than happy to help out. I kiss Noelle goodbye a bunch of times, not really wanting to leave her, but eventually, I head to class. The looks I get from the girls as I walk away are pretty intense—like off-the-charts intense.

In class, I manage to finish the test first, and I'm feeling pretty confident about it. As I hand in my paper, the teacher gives me a bit of a puzzled look but seems pleased overall. As soon as I'm done, I hurry back to find Kendall and Noelle.

Even though I know Noelle's safe with Kendall, my heart beats a little faster as I search for them. But then I feel a tiny hug around my legs and look down to see my girl, smiling up at me. I pick her up, spin her around, and cover her in kisses. I can practically hear the swooning from nearby girls. I prop her up on my hip and ask if she had fun with Kendall. She practically shouts, "YES, DADDY! Kendall is the best! We had hot chocolate!"

I laugh, thanking Kendall about a million times. She just smiles and says it was no trouble at all and that we should definitely hang out more so she can see Noelle again.
