(Cody's POV)
I walked behind Cyrus as he mumbled to himself, "A whole week?" He called again kicking the ground. "That's a whole week of my life that I'll never get back!" He complained throwing his head back with a sigh.
"Cyrus?" Josh called suddenly. Immediately Cyrus stopped and looked towards where Josh called his eyes brightening.
"My amigo!" He called as Josh hobbled out of his tent. Cyrus started when he saw him in a wheelchair and the wounds that littered his body.
"I thought you were going to be comatose forever." Josh said as he wheeled up to Cyrus pulling him into a hug. Cyrus though stood still a shocked look on his face.
"Wha- what happened to you?" He cried out trailing one of the bandages on Josh's arm. Josh suddenly looked tired and it was then that I noticed the bags under his eyes. He looked away from Cyrus and shrugged scratching the back of his head in nervousness as he wheeled back a bit.
"Um its a long story." He finally decided to end off on as he looked back to his tent. "I'll tell you inside though because it's not exactly verano out here." He joked getting a hint of his usual humour back as he wheeled away. Cyrus followed numbly but I stuck behind a tingling feeling overcoming me. Suddenly a wave of pain shot through my body and I let out a surprised yelp as I stumbled to my knees. When I looked down a trail of black vines seemed to be crawling up my arm and a dark energy was swirling around me. 'Codith' a voice seemed to call in the distance I just shook my head as another spasm of pain tore through me. I clutched my stomach in reflex as I gritted my teeth and squeezed my eyes shut. What's going on? I wondered as I attempted to get to my feet but my knees ended up just collapsing from the pain causing me to fall forward.
"Ugh." I gasp biting my hand to stop myself from crying out. Why does it hurt so bad? I felt a wave of sickness overwhelm me and I forced myself to my feet stumbling away from the tents and behind a mound of snow. I looked around briefly for anyone before I collapsed again the pain still radiating in waves. My muscles were contracting against my will and the dark veins across my body seemed to darken while my skin paled to almost the same shade as the snow. I was clutching my sides trying to keep my mind off the pain as I subconsciously bit my lip. I felt bile rise in my throat as I emptied my stomach the feeling only making me feel worse. I tried to crawl backwards but a particularly harsh pain stabbed through me causing me to lose my battle of staying upright as I collapsed backwards onto my side. My face was buried against the snow as my body contracted in pain causing me to writher back and forth, it felt like my body was tearing itself apart and then burning back together again.
I wasn't sure how long it lasted before it finally died away and the pain just become a dull ache. I was exhausted as I forced myself to stay awake I was curled in the feeble position and when I looked down I could see the blackness in my veins returning to normal as my body got a bit darker then it was before although it still looked almost greyish. I felt a wetness on my cheeks as silent tears fell down. I didn't even realize I was crying. I realized feeling too exhausted to move as I let out a pained sigh. I felt my eyelids close and right before I passed out my body flickered before it seemed to become intangible.
(Tobias's POV)
I was born blind.
Many people believed my disability to be my greatest disadvantage but as I have now realized that it is my biggest strength. Everyone is always so focused on what they see they seem numb to the sounds and the feelings that are given off. The intakes of breath or slight movements that they make. The quickening of their pulse of their minds.
Minds. When we were in the bubble within the base Alexis told me that I was something known as a telepath plus a being of light. Unlike the others I didn't ask too many questions about it for I was being fed information without Alexis even knowing. I learnt that most light users are born blind and that it was natural for me to be this way in fact it was needed. I also learnt that most light users can travel into a dimension known as the Arûmil Beld or the Dream Dimension. Alexis just didn't supply me with that information though as I also, on accident, learned about her.
