(Cody's POV)

I grabbed my sword and quickly moved to my brothers side watching as the hounds lunged out of the cage and raced towards us. I saw a couple go down before finally one reached me snarling as he lunged at me his teeth bared. I jumped out of the way and stabbed it with my sword getting a rush of energy as the creature stilled.

Two came at me at the same time but unlike before they didnt attack me yet they just circled me waiting for an opportunity for a killing blow. There getting smarter, I observed. I jabbed my sword at them causing the one to snap his teeth at me before the other one lunged at me knocking me backwards. I recovered quickly though and kicked the dog away from me before swinging my sword down as hard as I could the dog going limp.

"Cyrus!" I heard my brother yell out and I turned towards where my brother was facing and seeing Cyrus be attacked brutally by a hound that had him pinned. I quickly went to go help him when the other hound decided to let itself known and crashed into me almost knocking me over.

I was hoping that the others would help him and I went back to attacking the last hound who was after me. I went to lunge at me when all of a sudden this huge blast of energy exploded outwards causing me to fly backwards into the wall of the arena. My breath was knocked out of me when I landed and I dropped my sword as I let out a muffled yelp just like the others who I realized all landed near me as well looking dazed.

It was Basil who recovered first and he turned his head to the side his eyes widening in awe and fear. I turned to see what he was looking at and I fell silent as well as I watched the scene in front of me. I stood up to my feet to watch it closer the others following my example except Tobias who remained sitting.
