(Cody's POV)

I whirled around to face the sound turning my back to Tatem. A door was being opened and three soldiers walked in. They looked nervous but still aimed there guns at me and Tatem. Then from behind them came a younger kid about Tatem's age carrying food he set it down quickly glancing up and catching Tatem's eye before scurrying away quickly followed by the soldiers. The door closed with a loud bang and I turned back towards Tatem.

He was looking at me with a strange glint in his eye that almost looked like pity. Why would he pity me I thought angrily turning my face into a scowl.

He let out a little mrrow of laughter before he walked past me heading towards the food. He sniffed the meat before scarfing it down quickly licking his lips at the taste. He glanced at the other stuff then shifted his gaze back to me. <You know if you keep frowning like that your face will stay that way.> He said mockingly.

I continued to glare at him not trusting him. He let out a sigh before kicking the food towards me, <That's yours I know your hungry so eat.> He ordered me. I didn't want to but he was right I was practically starving at the moment so I did as he told me too and grabbed a sandwich off of the tray. In a matter of seconds the tray was completely empty and I was finishing off the water that they sent with it.

The whole time I was eating Tatem watched me never wavering his gaze at all. I set the cup down and eyed him again not glaring but not friendly either. <You can trust me Cody but you must be careful I can already see it taking affect and I don't want you to hurt you or anyone else.> He said his gaze holding a hint of sadness.

"What do you mean?" I asked angrily narrowing my eyes, "What's taking affect?"

He looked away from from me before turning back, <Just be careful and if anyone asks about me just say that you never saw me.> He said not answering my question but just raising more.
