He got a first place in the end. Most of the teachers voted that I'm the prettiest girl in my guild. I feel embarrassed and shy when the results come out. Not to mention I also being asked to go up the stage to have a photo shoot with him. Even Aya, who just woke up at that time, didn't miss to see that scene.
It's been three days since that day. Right now, there's a rumour going around that Ryder and I are actually a couple. Even though I kind of expected for this to happen. There's no way they wouldn't. Almost everyone knows that I have a crush on Ryder and that day, Ryder was the one who approached me first and hold my hand to run with him.
"When Ryder held your hand and ran with you, that was so romantic," a girl in my class approach me and say excitedly.
"She's right. Since when are you guys dating?" It's her friend who asked me this time.
"I don't even know if we could be called as friends. But now you are saying that we're dating? Sigh. No. We aren't dating. It's just one-sided love on my part." I decided to quickly solve this misunderstanding. I don't want Ryder to feel uncomfortable to answer this kind of questions.
"But, isn't he the one who held your hand at that time? He could just let go when you guys are running. Even after you guys reach the finishing line, he didn't immediately let go of your hand."
"That's true but-"
"The teacher is coming!" Mika shouts and everyone quickly sit at their own place. I take out my maths textbook and notebook before teacher entering our class.
"Stand up class!"
After the greeting, we sit down and the teacher takes out her signature, a long black ruler. This is what she used when she hits the butt of the boys who didn't finish the homework she gave. But we don't have any maths homework to finish right now. So why did she takes out that scary thing?
"I want to inform you. Two months later will be your end of the year exam. Have you guys study maths subjects to not fail again? The next year will be your final year in this school. Have you prepared for that?"
Hearing that questions, we all groan. So this is why she takes out that scary thing. It's to intimidate us to take this seriously. I could hear some students gulped and I am not an exception. It's clear that we didn't study maths at all!
"Hmph! I expected nothing from you! Listen! Thanks to your senior that we, the teachers learned. Even punishment won't work against you guys. We have made it clear to them that if they fail the maths exam, their holiday will be shorten by half. Even so! Not even half of them passed!"
Bang!
"That's why. We made it a little different this year. To those who fail maths exam this time, will only get ten days of holidays. And to those who passed the exam, you will get to join the school camping for free."
My head immediately jerk up when hearing that. I have never joined the school camping before. The reason was because the price was ridiculous. It's one hundred and fifty bucks for three days and two nights. There's no way my parents would agree to that when I have other siblings who went to the same school as me.
"Aya, let's do our best!" I say to her when she is busy putting her things under the desk. It's recess right now.
"Huh? Are you crazy? There's no way I would ever passed the maths exam!" She looks at me like I have lost my mind.
"Come on! We got to go to school camping together if we passed! This will be your last year in this school. Let's create some beautiful memories!" I urge her.
"Sigh. Do you have a plan to pass the exam? You should know that, with our level of understanding in mathematics, it's impossible for us to just study on our own."
