I look at him like I am looking at a real chimpanzee. I have a name which is pretty and pleasant to the ear but he called me Icha instead? Only my family can call me using my middle name. So, who does he think he is?
"Nina. Who are they?" Aya come to me and ask. I smile at her before introducing her to my old classmates.
"Let me introduce you. This is Aya, my new best friend. And Aya, this is Ellie, Zahra and Danielle."
"Hi." They give a small waves at each other. Aya turn to look at Zion and I roll my eyes. It feels like a waste of my breath to introduce him to her.
"And this is... The biggest eyesore in the world," I say and it makes the three girls beside Aya chuckles.
"Hey, I have a name. It's a name as handsome as my face," he says smugly. He turns to Aya and smile. "My name is Zion."
"You mean, your face is as handsome as chimpanzee," I retort.
"This is why I can never get tired seeing you two. Always bickering with each other even though it's been years since you guys last met," Danielle says as she smirks. Zahra and Ellie nod in agreement.
"All of you can eat now!" The teacher announced the lunchtime and the students grab their own platter they brought from home.
My friends recommend me the roasted chicken they cooked. It looks delicious. Aya taste it first and give them a thumbs up. I feel happy to see my friends getting along with each other.
"What is this barbarian looking meat?"
Of course, there's at least one person who will ruin my mood. I give Zion a deadpan look. He gives a disgust look at my hamburg steak. I roll my eyes in annoyance before smiling professionally toward him. He dares to insult my cooking?
"For your information, we can't cook the same main ingredients. So this is the only meat you can find here as the other schools cooked a chicken, fish and seafood. Sorry if it's look unpleasant to you. So you better not eat it as it will ruin your appetite, Your Majesty." I try to say as polite as possible. Then I ask Aya to help me put the hamburg steak away from his sights.
"I-I was just joking, okay! Hey! Bring it back!"
I just ignore his pleading. Then I spot Ryder and go to him. I put one hamburg steak on a plate with a gravy and give it to him. He takes it and taste it in front of me.
"How is it?" I ask in anticipation.
"It tastes great." I smile happily when he compliments the taste. I'm the one who seasoned the hamburg and cook the gravy, after all.
"You told me you don't have a boyfriend," Zion says from behind me. Looks like he still didn't give up to get the hamburg steak.
"None of your business," I say monotonously.
"Don't be like that, Icha."
"Call me Nina. We're not close enough for you to call me that, chimpanzee." I shoot him an icy look.
"Who is this?" Ryder ask me.
"My old classmates in middle school. The most irritating bastard," I reply like that to make Zion annoyed. He narrow his eyes at me as a warning. I just ignored it and the next thing I knew, my hair suddenly became loose. My ribbon is nowhere on my hair. A hand gently plays with my long hair.
"Can you please call me Zion, just for once? It's annoying when not even once you say my name," he says gently to my ear.
"If so, then call me Nina next time."
