We wake up at five in the morning. We were asked to clear the area because we will camp on the mountain starting today. For your information, we're at the foot of the mountain. We will go hiking after clean up.
At this point, it finally hit me. We are really going to undergo the military training! The hiking activities to the top of the mountain is a sign that it's starting. Most of us have a dead eyes. Not to mention we don't get enough sleep. We absolutely look like a zombie.
"Pritttttt!!!" A very loud whistle jolt me up. I look at the man wearing a military uniform and have a very scary look on his face.
"Faster! We need to arrive there before the sunrise. Pritt!! If not, you guys won't be able to have a lunch!" Hearing that, we quickly move. Those who still sleepy instantly awake after having a whistle directly blow on their ears. I subconsciously cover my ears when seeing that, certain that I don't want my ears to blow up.
The hiking is filled with the students grumbling. I feel fortunate that we have been strictly reminded to bring a pair of shoes for hiking. Or else, I won't bring any because I hate activities like this.
"Finally I can talk to you."
"Who are you?" I ask the guy who walked over to me. He has a tanned skin and quite tall.
"You don't remember me? That hurts. You recognised Zion right away yesterday." He gives me a hurt look. I scoff.
"Of course I remember you. The king of gossipers, Frizz. But you look different now. I almost couldn't recognize you," I say while looking at him up and down. If it's not for him being with his twin sister, I would not have recognize him.
He usually have a gentle personality and always hang out with girls. He rarely had a lunch with boys group. But now, the gentle aura has gone, replaced with a brave and confident ones. I guess being in the All Boys High School has played a big part in changing his personality.
"Are you kidding? You're the one who look different. You have become even cuter than before." I chuckle at his statements.
"You think my nerd appearance is cute?"
"Yeah. Doesn't anyone have said it before?" At the question, I began to think.
"No. There's someone who said it when I was in middle school. But I don't know if I can take it as a compliment," I answer as I avoid the tree branches. Thank goodness, I wear a cap or else, my hair will become a mess.
"Who? And what do you mean by that?"
"It's Raft's best friend at that time. He said to my brother like this, "Your sister is cute. But she's hot tempered." What do you think? Is that a compliment?" I look at him to get an answer. He laughs.
"Ahaha! I think it's a compliment. Your hot temper must look charming to him," he says with the rest of his laughter. I narrow my eyes at him.
"Are you making fun of me?" My voice sounds like a threat.
"Oops. Did that cross the line?"
"Of course not. You think I can't take such a joke? I don't look cute just for show," I say smugly. He scoffs and then we both chuckles. I'm happy at the fact that we still can chat and laugh like we used to do. Even though he seems to have changed a lot, it looks like his friendly nature is still there.
"Ow!" I suddenly felt a sharp pain on my leg. I stop and lift up my tracksuit pants. I'm pointing my flashlight at it. Ugh. It's something I disgust. A leech.
"Are you okay?" Frizz ask. He notices something weird when I suddenly stopped.
"I'm not fine. There's a leech on my leg. Can you please... Take it off?" I beg him. I close my eyes to avoid seeing the disgusting thing. For that thing to be here, there must be a river nearby.
