Y/n POV
"Karina, I love you. I've always loved you. Ever since we were kids. The moment you walked into my life, I felt a feeling I'd never felt before." Kai spoke. Karina's face was redder than the color, but her face was so awkward and nervous. Meanwhile, I was sitting at my lunch table, praying for this to end quickly. If he wanted to pour his heart out in private, that would've been fine, but he just had to do it at the school cafeteria for everyone to hear. A part of me was hoping she'd just run off and leave him embarrassed.
He finally revealed his purpose for this one-way ticket to dirty jokes from your friends when he he got on one knee and pulled out the small box that he handed her. When she opened it, her eyes widened. I didn't see what it was, but I did see her take the box and whisper something in his ear before she walked away.
"My eyes. Can't. Claw them out. Fast enough." I said as I turned back to my table to face my friends. "I'll do it after school if you want." Felix joked. "I'll pay extra if you do it now. Oh, even better, double it and give it to that guy." I responded. "You're the one who keeps staring at them. Or, more specifically, her." Hyunjin said. "Ugh, not this again. I don't have a crush on her or anyone. I don't need a girl to love. Bros before hoes, remember?" I said before we all did our handshake sacred to our friend group.
"So, when are we going to the Christmas resort?" Han spoke. "I don't know. Maybe in a few days when we actually get out of school for Christmas?" Felix suddenly said. Suddenly, the bell rang, signaling that we had to get to class. "I know we've got a while before school's up, but don't wait for me when you get out. I'm gonna revisit the Martial Arts club for a while." I spoke. "You haven't been there in years. Tell us how it goes when you get back." Han spoke. "Alright." I said before hurrying to class.
Karina POV
"Someone's got a husband named Kai in their future. Maybe a few kids too?" Winter said from behind me. "Please don't. Do not say stuff like that." I said. "Aren't you two together?"
"No. I don't even know where that came from." I spoke. "Really? He made it sound like you two had already been dating for years or something." Winter spoke. "I know. We were kinda close, but not close enough to be considered an item. We only really met because our parents were business partners, but we never hung out, just the two og us. Hell we never really hung out at all." I said. "At least now we know there's still hope for you and Y/n." Winter said with a snicker. "Oh, not this again. Yeah, we're close, but if he liked me, don't you think he would've asked me out by now?" I asked.
"Better question: If you don't like him, why didn't you like Lia? She was really nice and she loved him." Winter spoke. "They broke up for a reason. That girl was not it." I said. "And you are it. That's why you two should be together. See, you get it." Winter exclaimed.
"You're twisting my words now." I said. "So you don't like him?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.
"We're close friends, but just friends."

Y/n POV
I was walking through the halls, down to the back of the school. It had been a couple of years since I had been to the Martial Arts club and I had been contemplating visiting for a while. Last time I was there, I was the best fighter with a 5th Degree Black belt. Not to brag or anything, but I could even push our sensei to a stand still in a spar.
I got to the specific corridor the school had for clubs and walked until the sound of people grunting HAI got louder and louder. When I got to the club room, I stopped and looked through the window. 'No way' I thought as I saw the same hopeless romantic from the cafeteria. 'Huening Kai is in the Martial Arts club.'
*knock knock*
"Continue practicing your hooks. I'll see who our guest is." The sensei said before he walked and opened the door. When he saw me his eyes lit up. "Hey sensei Psy." I said. Before I could even bow to show respect, he brought me into a back breaking hug. "Y/n! Oh, it's been such a long time since I saw you, my star pupil. How are you?" He spoke. "Good... though I think I'll be even better if I still have my spine intact." I joked as his hug had actually started to give slight icks of pain. "Oh, sorry. It's just been so long." He said before me stepped aside and welcomed me in.
"Y/n?" I heard a familiar voice say. "Wonyoung?" I said as I turned to face her. "It is you!" She said as she ran to hug me. "Did you say Y/n?" Yeji said before she turned around and ran to hug me. 'Ah this is gonna hurt.' I thought before they both ran to hug me, followed by almost every other club member. The one downside to being so popular.
*crack*
"I missed you so much! It's been so long! How have you been?" Wonyoung asked. "I've been good. Made more friends. Going on vacation in a few days. Even got this." I said as I showed them my butterfly knife. "Though I'd say the big changes are in all of you. Every single one of you have advanced 2 belts! I even remember when most of you were fresh. A lot of you could probably beat me in a fight now." I spoke.
"Who's this guy?" Kai said as he suddenly walked over. "Watch your tone Kai. This kid is a prodigy. Probably good enough to beat me in a fight by now." Sensei spoke. "Yeah, who do you think won those trophies?" Jennie spoke as she pointed to the several trophies I'd won for the club. "Yup. Not to brag or anything, but I'm him." I said with a hint of cockiness in my voice.
"I bet I could take him." Kai said triumphantly. He probably just had an under-developed brain. I had at least 5 trophies on that wall, and he thought he could beat me? To be fair, he was also a black belt, but even after everyone advised him against it, he still wanted to fight.
"Are you implying..." I paused as I slowly inched up to him, "That you can beat me?" I said as I side-eyed him with a slight smirk on my face. "What do you think?" He clapped back. "Alright then..." I said before I took my shoes off and stepped on the mat. Sensei Psy told the other students to stand beside. The students who knew what kind of threat I was even pulled their phones out. They knew the ass whooping they were about to witness would blow up on social media.
"Any last words?" He asked me. "You must have amnesia, you forgot that I'M HIM!" I said before I entered my stance.
He stood still before charging at me, feinting a punch into a sweep. I didn't fall for the feint and dodged his sweep. He front kicked into punch, but I blocked the kick, grabbed his arm and flipped him on the ground before elbow striking his abdomen. He quickly got up and threw two reckless punches, hoping to hit me while he was disoriented from the elbow, but I caught both his hands and drop kicked him in the chest, using his chest as a jump pad. To add even more style points, I back flipped while mid-air and had a graceful land.
"Thanks for that. It was a nice way of knocking my rust off."
