Settling In

"This place is actually massive!" Karina said as she walked into the vacation home they'd be staying at. "And lots of room for you to cuddle with Y/N." Giselle joked, and Karina looked away to hide her blush.  

"You guys better have deleted those photos." Y/N spoke as he walked in holding some of the bags. "I... did not." Hyunjin said with a snicker. Y/N sighed before going back out the door to help get the rest of the bags. "Well, if you don't I won't give any of you your gifts. And I got Felix something that he'll love." Y/n said.

"It's just a picture." "A picture that was taken wildly out of context. And I know the only reason you won't delete it is because you want to show it to other people." Y/N said quickly as he brought more bags. "So if we don't show anyone, it's cool?" Hyunjin asked. "*sigh* Just help me get these bags inside. I wanna see what's changed about this place over the last 5 years." Y/n spoke as he went back outside to get the rest of the bags. "Ooooh, he's going into town later. You could join him y'know. For a 2nd date?" Ningning teased.

"The next few weeks are actually gonna be paradise." Felix spoke as they finally got settled into the vacation resort. "Especially for these two." Hyunjin spoke, referring to Y/N and Karina. "Alright, that's it. Horseshoe match in the backyard, right now." Y/N suddenly spoke before getting up. "Are you serious? Can you even play while your hand is bandaged up? Did you even bring the horseshoes?" He asked. "Yes to all of the above." Y/N spoke. "Let's run it. Me and Felix vs. You and Bang Chan." Y/N spoke. "Me? Why drag me into this?" Bang Chan spoke. "No if ands or buts. Let's go." Y/N said as he went to the back yard with the horseshoe equipment.

"Um, how does this game work?" Karina asked Seungmin from the sidelines as Y/n hammered down the horseshoe pole. "You see those little ring-like things. Those are the horseshoes. You have to get them as close to the pole as you can and for every horseshoe that's closer than your opponent's horseshoe, you get one point. If it gets tangled around the pole, you gain 5 points, 10 if you land both of your horseshoes around it. It's called a ringer, but if someone else gets a ringer over your ringer, they get the points instead, along with another 5 points for their ringer. If you don't have 5 points by the time the other team gets 15 you lose automatically. And, assuming you get 5 points, it's first to 30 to win." Seungmin explained. 

"Alrighty, start the game!" Y/n said.

Y/N POV

Bang Chan was throwing his horseshoes first. His never before seen strategy was to actually throw both horseshoes at once. Sometimes he got a ringer, sometimes he got two ringers, but more often than not, the horseshoes landed nowhere near the pole. And this must be the rare occasion where they both landed next to it. Not a ringer, but it'd be damn hard to get closer to the pole than his. 

Before throwing my horseshoes, I glanced over to the sidelines for a millisecond and saw Karina smiling at me. As I felt her gaze, I felt more compelled to make sure they didn't get the point. Like my world would come crashing down if I missed, but I didn't know why. I threw my horseshoe and got a ringer, the horseshoe even knocked Bang Chan's horseshoe off of the pole. "Oh, you're so lucky." He said as he saw the ringer. "Luck. Skill. Polar opposites, yet it's so easy to get them mixed up." I boasted. I kinda just ragdolled the other horseshoe. I didn't care where it went, I already knew we had the point.

"Alright, by the POWER OF Y/N AND KARINA'S LOVE!" Hyunjin said before he threw his first horseshoe and got a ringer. "Look at that! You two are meant to be." He said. "And you are meant to be in a hospital." I said. Hyunjin threw his 2nd horshoe and got a ringer. "You two must be aiming for marriage by now." Hyunjin said again. I didn't even bother saying anything. I just stood there and buried my face in my hands while Felix threw his horseshoe. 

"You gotta be kidding me! YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING!!!" Hyunjin yelled. I looked up and saw Felix threw his horseshoe and got a ringer, ending the game 15-0.  "YEEEEEESSSS!!!" I said as I ran to Felix and we did our handshake. I even did a backflip to celebrate. "How does that feel?" I said as I ran over to Hyunjin. "Not as good as it felt taking that picture."

Narrator POV

Knock Knock

"I got it." Y/N said as he got up from the couch to get the door. He opened the door and saw the same girl from the mall when he was getting the gifts. 

"Oh, it's you." They both said when they realized they'd seen each other at the mall. "Hi, I don't know if Minnie told you, but my name's Yuqi." She said. "Y/N, nice to meet you." "Nice to meet you too." She said. 

"Here's your, 4 pizzas?" She spoke. "I'm staying with some friends for Christmas. I don't look plus-sized enough to eat 4 pizzas solo, do I?" He joked. "No, you look really fit actually." She giggled. "Thanks." He said as he took the pizzas and set them on the counter. "Here, a little extra since I ran into you again." Y/N said as he tipped her an extra $30. "Thank you so much. Y'know, since that girl isn't here, why don't you give me your number so we can meet up tomorrow?" She spoke. "Alright." He said as he gave her his phone. "But be fast. That very same girl is in the living room right now waiting on the pizza." He said.

"Okay, it's in." She said as she handed him his phone back. "Ok, goodn-" He started, but she pulled him in close. 

"I can't wait to see you tomorrow." She whispered before kissing his cheek and wishing him a goodnight before walking away back to her car.

"Yo! What's taking so long dude?" Han spoke as he was tired of waiting. "Sorry! Wanted to give them a tip." He said before closing the door and bringing the pizza to them. "You didn't even get the drinks and you were rushing me!" Y/N said as he sat down. Han quickly got up and ran over to the fridge, but before Y/n could even open the box, he could feel the gaze of everyone in the room.

"Do I have something on my face?"

"Yeah, you do." Hyunjin said snickering. Y/N grabbed his phone and looked at his reflection through the screen. He had a kiss mark on his cheek from Yuqi's lipstick. 

"Was it that girl from the mall?" Karina spoke with a stoic expression. "A girl from the mall?" Haerin said as she turned to face her brother, an eyebrow raised at the thought of him having a girlfriend. "I met a girl named Yuqi at the mall while getting your gifts. Karina scared her off, but she was also the person who delivered the pizza." "And she decided to thank you for your kind tip with some skin-to-skin contact right?" Karina interjected. 

"Is that why you took so long?" Karina interrogated. "Kinda. She seems nice though." Y/N spoke. "Nice enough that she just happened to be the exact person to deliver our pizza specifically, out of the dozens of orders they probably had. Don't you think that's a little convenient?" Karina said. "When you put it that way, it seems suspicious, but she told me she already lived here. I was already expecting to run into her. Just didn't expect it to be so soon." Y/N said.

"Look at you, first time back here in years and already got a girl fawning over you. I taught you well." Han said as he finally got back with the drinks. "Two girls! At the same time too??? Jeez dude, you entered your villain arc. Just so you know, we're never gonna let you live down that photo from earlier." Hyunjin joked and almost everyone started laughing, but Karina still had a deadpan expression.
