Chapter 17

"So... Would you mind meeting some of our friends while we're here?" Niall asked as we were eating breakfast in the hotel room.

"What kind of friends?" I asked, taking a drink of milk.

"Vampire friends." Louis replied.

"Uh sure." I shrugged.

"Good because we arleady told them you'd come." Harry sighed.

"Oh, so it didn't really matter if I said yes or no?" I laughed. The boys nodded.

"We'll head over there in an hour." Zayn smiled. I nodded and ushered them out to change.

After I had finished getting ready I met them in the hall. "So, where do these friends live?"

"They're pretty close, actually." Liam said. I gave a thumbs up and out we headed!

We pulled up to a very large house and were welcomed in by an older woman. I stuffed my hands in my pockets as we all stood around waiting to be greeted. After a few moments two girls walked down the steps.

They. Are. Gorgeous.

"Hey boys!" A blonde haried girl said. The boys got up, so I did as well.

"Hi!" Another girl said. After the girls and boys reunited they came to me.

"I'm Bri." A dark haired girl smiled.

"I'm Jess." The blonde one introduced herself.

"Charlie." I smiled back.

"Boys, get down here!" Bri shouted. A second later two boys came bounding down the steps. Oh... Wow.

"Trust me, they're not as wow as you think." Jess smiled.

"Oh yeah... The whole mind reading thing hasn't really... Nevermind." I sighed.

"I'm Jeremy." A tall, blonde boy held out his hand. I shook it glandly.

"Zac." Another boy smiled.

"Charlie." I smiled back.

"Nice name." Jeremy walked past me and to the boys. Then, a young girl came skipping down the steps.

"This is my sister." Bri put her arm around the child. "Jenna."

"Hi Jenna, I'm Charlie."

"Hi." She said quietly. Even this kid is prettier than me!

"JENNA!" Louis shouted and grabbed the girl and spun her around.

"So, you're a newborn..." Jeremy came up behind me.

"How could you tell?" I smiled.

"I can smell it."

"That's my perfume." I teased.

"Smells good."

"I try."

"Who changed you?" Zac asked.

"Louis... Got right to it!" I smiled. Louis put his arm around my shoulder.

"It was my pleasure, really." He smirked.

"Hm." I pushed off of him. I sat down on the couch and everyone joined me. Bri sat herself on Zayn's lap and Jess was on Harry's, while Jenna was sprawled out on Liam and Niall. I sat awkwardly.

Everyone started to play catch up and reminisced about past fights or events. I was basically another pillow on this chair. It was awkward as hell. When the boys were in the midst of fighting and the girls were shouting at them, I rushed away to the bathroom after searching for the right door. I stared at myself in the mirror, looking at my every flaw. I sighed at my appearance and just look in general.

"You're pretty, too, you know." Jenna said, poking her head in the door.

"Thanks." I shrugged.

"I'm a newborn too... I was near death and Bri saved me... It's hard getting used to all of this." She stepped in and stood next to me. "But, you are really pretty."

"I wish I could tell myself that."

"Why can't you?"

"Compared to Bri and Jess, I'm just... Here. I thought I was a gorgeous creature, but the whole transformation went muh better for them."

"Stop that!" She slapped my arm.

"HEY!" I laughed.

"You're beautiful, don't forget that." She pulled me out of the bathroom. "Now come on, we want to see your powers."

Everyone was standing outside.

"How are we gonna show them your abilities?" Louis asked.

"Someone hit me." Zayn stepped forward.

"What?" Jeremy asked.

"Just... Hit me..." He sighed. I released from Jenna's hold.

"Zayn..." I stepped to him.

"You asked for it, bro." Jeremy punched Zayn square in the jaw causing me to clutch my chin.

"OW!" I shouted.

"Did... Did you feel that?" Jeremy turned to me then Zayn.

"All of it?" Zac added.

"She absorbs it, but the pain doesn't kill her... She just takes the hits." Zayn explained.

"Woah let me try!" Zac ran over and tackled Jeremy, kicking and hitting him.

"Okay, okay!" I cry. Zac climbs off.

"Right." He fixes his shrit and helps Jeremy up.

"Can you control if you take the pain or not?" Jess asked.

"Yea... So if you were to hit Zac, I could chose not to feel it."

"We're not trying that." Zac pointed at Jess who pouted.

"What else do you do?" Bri asked.

"I heal and can hear animals..." I shrugged.

"Not bad newborn." Zac smiled and put his arm around me.

"Thanks grandpa." I teased.

"GRANDPA!" He flung his arm off of me.

"Good one." Louis high fived me.

"So how'd your family take it, the whole vampire thing?" Bri asked.

"The don't know." I confessed.

"WHAT?!" Jess exclaimed.

"I want to tell them in person." I threw my hands up.

"They're gonna flip." Niall laughed.

"They're going to disown me and put me in a crazy hospital then kill me for being so insane."

"Considering you're already dead." Harry smirked.

"Ha ha." My words drowning in sarcasm.

"Sassy!" Zac fist bumped me.

"I teach her everything she knows." Louis crossed his arms.

"Not true! Liar." I rolled my eyes.

"Louis probably couldn't even teach a butterfly to fly..." Jenna giggled.

"See, she agrees!" I gave Jenna a hug. "I like this kid."

"Keep her." Bri rolled her golden brown eyes.

"Will do! Alright Jenna let's go!" I teased.

"No JENNA is MINE!" Louis shouted. We played around for a little while until the doorbell rang.

"Got it!" Jeremy rushed inside and we followed. "Uh... Charlie... Someone's... Here to see you."
