This book is almost finished. :(

I'm thinking there will be 1 or 2 chapters after this. I'm so sad that it's ending. I hope you've all enjoyed the story.

Riley POV:

We all sat around the fire pit at Josh's lake house, each with a soda in our hands. We had hung out all summer, making the most of every minute we had left before it comes time for school to start. Tonight is the last night we will be together before we all go off to college.

Everyone has been kind of quiet tonight. It was technically our 'going away' party but nobody was really partying. It was bittersweet for all of us. We were all excited to go off to college but we didn't want to leave each other behind.

"You know, I'm going to miss you all." Drew whispered quietly. We all nodded in agreement.

"This has seriously been the best summer I've ever had." Harper added.

"I love you guys." I added, trying to keep the tears out of my eyes. They all whispered "I love you too."

We sat there in silence, the only sound coming from the fire crackling.

"I think it's time guys." Kylie said, breaking the silence. We all nodded and got up before walking over to the grass of Josh's lawn. Blankets were laid out in front of a giant outdoor movie screen with a projector pointed at it. We took our seats and Harper pulled me into her arms.

At the beginning of the year, I had the genius idea to document our senior year and make a video to play on the last night before we all went to college. We all took different videos and pictures throughout the year and sent them to Kylie, who put them all together into this video.

She connected her phone to the projector before sitting down next to Josh and cuddling up next to him. The screen was black before the words 'Senior Year' popped up on the screen. They faded away and then the screen switched to a video of me.

"What's up. I'm Riley Sader and it's day one of senior year." My voice echoed over the speakers. The video then switched from one person to the next as they all gave their introductions.

"Josh Ashton here, and welcome to senior year."

"I'm Kylie Ross, captain of the Scranton High girls soccer team."

"Co captain!" You could hear me yell in the background of the video and everyone laughed.

"I'm Lexi Maddox and I play center d."

"I'm Grace and I'm an outside midfielder."

"Hi I'm Harper and this is my first year at Scranton High."

"I am Leonel Messi." Drew's voice said and we all laughed again. Sal then walked into the frame. "Dude your not even half as good as Messi."

"Hey fake it till you make it." Drew's voice said and we all laughed louder.

"Anyways forget this bozo. I'm Sal Moroni and welcome to our senior year."

The video then faded into one picture after the next as the song 'Wake Me Up When September Ends" by Green Day started playing. When the picture of Harper and me celebrating after my goal as she held me up in the air appeared on the screen, Harper hugged me tighter and kissed the top of my head.

After a few pictures there would be videos of us doing stupid teenager shit. There was one video of all all cheering in the locker room as Kylie danced in the center of all of us after a big win.

There was a video of Josh and Drew trying to dump the Gatorade jug on their coach after their championship win but the two boys slipped and dumped it all over themselves.

There was a video of me back flipping into the lake and another of me and Harper singing karaoke together.

There were pictures and videos from every memory throughout the year. Homecoming, prom, graduation, and every stupid party we had at Josh's.

The whole video was beautiful and it brought tears to my eyes. Leaving this group tomorrow would be one of the hardest things I'd ever have to do.

The screen faded back to black but nobody moved. We all sat staring straight ahead at the black screen with tears in our eyes.

"Aw I'm going to miss you all." Drew wailed as tears streamed down his cheeks. We all walked over to him and pulled him into a group hug. We were all crying now.

"H-hey K-kylie? Good j-job with the video." I stuttered between sobs.

"I made it too good. I didn't want to cry." She wailed and we all laughed. When we finally pulled back from the hug, I looked around the circle of people. Tears still filled my eyes but I had a smile on my face.

"Promise me this isn't the end." I said.

"Oh it absolutely is not. Sorry but you guys are stuck with me for life." Drew said and we laughed again.

"We will see each other every summer and every break. This friend group will not fall apart." Josh stated a matter of factly.

And he was right.

Harper POV:

The next day, my parents drove me to the airport. I had struggled to pack my luggage. How do you pack your whole life away into some little box?

"Promise you will call every day." My mom said with tears in her eyes as she and my dad pulled me into a hug.

"Of course I will." I replied.

"And Riley too! We want to see both of you." My dad added. I smiled and nodded. I couldn't be more grateful that my parents have come around to accept our relationship. They now love Riley like she's their own kid.

I said my final goodbyes to them before walking through to my terminal. I looked back one last time to see them smiling with tears in their eyes as they waved goodbye. I smiled and waved back, trying not to let my own tears fall.

When I got to my gate, I sat down in a chair and blew my nose. Leaving my friends and family behind was so hard. After a few minutes I saw Riley walking over to me. She had tears in her eyes as well but she gave me a soft smile as she sat down next to me.

"You just say goodbye to your dad?" I asked.

"Really? How could you tell?" Riley laughed.

I sighed as I took her hand in mine.

"I'm scared." I whispered quietly.

"Don't worry, the plane won't fall out of the sky." She said nonchalantly.

"Riley!" I shrieked as I whacked her arm. She just laughed in response.

"I'm not scared about that. I'm scared about the future." I said.

"I know and I am too. But as long as I have you, I can handle anything that comes my way." Riley replied before kissing me on the cheek. "Everything will be okay, I promise."

"Thank you." I whispered before leaning my head on her shoulder.

We sat there for half an hour before our flight was finally announced.

"Now boarding flight 923 to Raleigh Durham International Airport in Morrisville, North Carolina."

Riley and I both stood up at the announcement.

"Are you ready?" I asked.

"Ready as I'll ever be." Riley replied.

She held my hand as we walked through the gate and onto our flight, walking into a whole new chapter of our lives.
