Lynda twirled in a little dress she pulled on. It complemented her curves and it was her favorite. She pulled on comfortable sandals.

Jackson walked in. "Honey. We talked about this."

She sighed and looked at him. "It's at a bar and grill... what is wrong with this."

"Never mind. Do whatever you want. At least change those earrings..." he said as he walked out. He was wearing a damn dress shirt and dress pants.

She looked in the mirror. She changed the earrings and headed out.

Strip was standing with a group of racers and laughing. Chick was cracking out some jokes that were pretty good.

"And this idiot tells some girl a corny gas joke and she laughs cause his humor is shit."
Chick said as he smacked Strips chest.

Strip rolled his eyes as he stopped on a mock tail. "I mean my sense of humor is shit." He said giving them a she was right look.

They all just laughed. Strip looked around the restaurant when he saw Jackson walk in. He raised a brow noticing Lynda wasn't with him.

"Hey Jackson!" Strip waved him over.

Jackson smiled and walked over. "Hey Weathers. Sorry we're late. She was taking her sweet time getting ready." He chuckled.

The other racers laughed. "Typical of the ladies." Jackson said as he ordered a beer. Strip didn't give him a response.

"Is that why she's not here?" Strip said eyeing him.

"Ah no. She's in the car looking for something." Jackson said. Strip gave him a weird look. "Why... didn't you wait for her?"

Jackson looked at him a bit confused. "Do I need to?"

"No... but. Well, I'll go get her. She probably wondering where the hell everyone is." Strip said as he finished his drink and put it on the counter. Jackson started talking to the other racers.

Strip looked at Chick. "Keep him entertained." Chick gave him and nod and ordered Jackson another beer.

Strip went outside. He forgot to mention he didn't know what car the man drove. He scratched his head. "Okay... uh. What looks expensive?" He said as he walked around.

He then saw a Benz. "There we go." He fixed his jacket and walked to the car. He paused when he heard crying. He stepped on her side and saw her sitting in the car.

She looked up slightly and nearly jumped out of her seat. She quickly pulled her mirror down. "Strip?"

"Hey sunshine? What's wrong?" He said immediately concerned, but keeping his distance for her sake.

"I- um nothing." She said as she wiped her eyes, immediately pulling her mirror up. He saw she had been crying.

"Can... I come over there?" He asked calmly. "Yeah..."

He walked over, knelt down by her seat. She didn't look at him. "Jackson said you were looking for something?" He said trying to tame the silence.

She rolled her eyes. "Don't believe a damn word that comes out of his mouth." She opened her mirror and groaned in annoyance. "All my make up is ruined..."

Strip carefully opened her door a bit more and got a good look at her face. He only saw a little bit of smudged mascara but that was it.

"It's not that bad." He said trying to encourage her. She just shook her head. He looked around as if looking for an answer to try to help her.

"And I'm in a dress I hate..." she groaned and held her head.

Jackson ended ip making her change out of her dress. But she brought it with her.

"You hate this dress?" Strip said. He thought she looked stunning. "Yeah... it's one of stupid expensive ones he got for me..." she pulled out a bag with the frilly white dress that would drop at her knees. "This is what I wanted to wear..."

Strip nodded a bit. "Then it's settled. Wear that one."

Lynda looked at him surprised. "Huh? Change? Now?!"

Strip nodded. "Yeah. I'll covered the front with my jacket and I'll guard this door with my life." He smiled a bit.

She looked at him in disbelief as he covered the windshield with his jacket. He got some weird looks but he didn't care. "Only if you want to of course..."

"Oh- uh. Yeah! Yeah I'll change. Damn this thing is itchy." He stood in front of her door with his back turned as she got changed.

"Knock when you're done." He said as he leaned against the door.

"You know you're very sweet." She said as she unzipped the back her dress.

"Thanks sunshine." He said as he guarded her door.

"Where's.. Jackson from?" He asked curiously.

"He is from New York." She said as she pulled her dress on. Well that explained the manners. She knocked on the window and he immediately moved.

She stood outside of the car, immediately looking so much more comfortable and happy. Strip just smiled. "There you go."

"But my makeup..."

He motioned her To come over. "You got makeup wipes?"

She reached into her bag and handed them to him. He pulled a wipe out and looked at her. "May I do something?"

"Go ahead."

He wiped the smudged makeup away, and it felt a nice wing of eyeliner, and her mascara wasn't touched.

"Take a look."

She looked in the car mirror and smiled. "So you can do makeup too?"

"Nah. Trust me. You don't want me anywhere near your face with eyeliner." He said as he pulled his jacket back on.

"Funny." She Said as she grabbed her purse. He looked her up and down, she was just stunning. Thankfully she didn't notice his gaze.

"Don't let him tell you anything like that."
He said. Lynda looked at him as she locked the car.

"What you want to wear or do, or act like is more important than his opinion. Okay?" He said as he shoved his hand into his pockets.

The two stood there in silence.

She chuckled quietly and sighed. "Okay."
