The Dinoco team had a party (including Chick). Chick danced with Strip like the idiots they were.
Someone invited a bunch of people, so half of the people there strip didn't know. He said hello to a lot of people, but the only person he wanted to see was his sunshine.
He walked around as he came over to Tex. "Where's... Lynda?" Tex looked at him as he sipped his beer.
"She's outside again. She didn't want to come in just yet." Tex said gesturing him to go outside.
Strip got her a lemonade before he went outside. She was sitting there in a floral dress. Oh how she stole his breath every single time. "You okay?" He said.
She looked at him and then smiled a bit. "Yeah. I'm fantastic."
He smiled at that and sat next to her. He handed her the lemonade. "Oh thank you. I needed that." She sipped on it.
The two sat in silence. She was anxious. He could tell since she was picking at her nail polish.
Carefully, he reached over and held her hand. "What's wrong sunshine?" She squeezed his hand.
"I'm nervous."
"About?" He said calmly. She looked at him. "I...I don't want this to fail. Cause... I'm not good at this love thing, but you are so good at it, and I don't want to lose you cause of that." She say tearing up.
She wiped her tears with her free hand. Strip just listened. "Lynda." He then looked at her.
"You won't lose me. Oh I promise you that." He said confidently. "Sunshine, all have to do is look my way and I'll be the happiest man in the world." He said with a breathy laugh.
"You're the only person who's ever made me feel like that, and I don't want to lose the sunshine who brightened everything in my life."
"But strip..."
"Sunshine, I'll be whatever you need me to be. Even if that's just a friend... I'll be that. Cause as long as you're here, everything just feels... perfect." He said as he looked at her. She looked at his hand and messed with his fingers.
He saw a faint blush on her face. "I kissed you so... that would make being friends a bit awkward."
"I would just continue on, with it as a memory, and you as a friend if that's what you want."
She wasn't used to being asked what she wanted. She wasn't used to being cared for so much like this. She wasn't used to being... looked at as if she was the whole world.
"So what do you want?" He asked quietly. She stopped fiddling with his fingers. She just stared at their hands intertwined.
"You." She said. She looked at him. She was greeted by a small smile.
"I can do that." He chuckled as he looked ahead. She noticed his ears were turning red. Oh he was so precious.
She gently turned his face back towards her. She looked at his lips and then at him. He gently held her face and kissed her. She nearly melted as he did.
She broke the kiss slightly as her eyes were still closed. "You promise you won't disappear..." she says quietly.
He leaned his forehead against hers. "I promise."
She smiled a bit and then kissed him again. He smiled against the kiss.
"Strip- OH MY GOSH!" Chick nearly yelled as he appeared out of absolutely no where.
The two nearly died. Strip jumped up as Lynda sat there covering her face. "I am not shocked." Chick said going to tease Lynda and strip.
Strips face was red as he refused to look at chick. She just chuckled as she looked at him.
"Cute." Chick said flicking Strips ear.
"Go away." Strip said continuing to look away.
"Nah..."
Tex came outside and saw chick torturing both of them. "I'm assuming something good happened. Still, Strip, come on time to give your speech."
Strip relaxed a bit and extended his hand to Lynda. "Come with me?"
She took his hand and walked in, Chick trailing behind with a smirk. Tex looked at him. "Are they-"
"Yesss sir."
Strip walked up onto the stage. Lynda stayed on the lower part to watch his speech.
He chuckled as he adjusted his mic. "Today might just be the best day of my life y'all..."
Everyone laughed. "I found someone to love, oh and I won my first race." Another group laugh echoed.
"Today is just the beginning. I intend to win some more, and get Dinoco back on top. Thank you all again for supporting, just thank you."
He walked back down to Lynda. "You having a good day aren't cha." She said with a smirk as he gently pulled her towards him.
"Oh yes. Girl of my dreams is right, and I got her a trophy." He said with a chuckle.
"Got me a trophy?"
"Oh yeah. That's for you sunshine. I'll get you more." He said as he kissed her cheek.
"I look forward to it." She said with a chuckle. Tex walked over with a camera and took a photo of the couple. Lynda just smiled.
"I have a feeling y'all are gonna love this photo for a long time." Tex said with a chuckle.
Chick tackled the two love birds and a photo got taken. All three were smiling. It was the three of them against the world.
Tex smiled at the picture. "Y'all are gonna cherish these pictures you know." He said as he handed them the pictures.
"Yeah we will. Hey, we should recreate this picture when we're older." Lynda said with a big bright smile. Strip nodded
"I like that idea. Chick what do you think?" Strip said looking at him.
Chick just smiled. "Of course, only if I have time though. I might be a very busy champion." Strip just messed up his friend's hair and smiled.
"Fair enough. Make sure to keep me included." Strip said with a chuckled.
"I will. Don't worry."
