The season was a battle.

It was the final race and Strip was leading the championship. But Chick was right behind him, missing only five points.

If chick won the championship would be his. Strip wasn't going to let last year happen again. He was going to be the champion.

He drove with Tex and Lynda to the track. It was the final race, and he was on pole. Everyone was quiet in the car cause Strip was getting in the zone.

He had his eyes closed and was focusing on going through the track.

They got to their destination. He got out and opened Lynda's door for her. She got out and looked at him. He looked back at her and winked. "I'm getting you a championship tonight."

She was a bit surprised by this declaration, but she just smirked and walked next to him. "I look forward to it."

Strip got down to his garage. He cleaning his helmet up a bit. Tex walked over and sat next to him. "Don't let Chick get close... apparently he's been playing dirty this whole season. Be ready."

Strip nodded. "He won't touch me today." He said his crew chief told him to get into the car. Strip nodded and pulled his helmet on. Tex grabbed his shoulder and turned him towards him.

"Make us proud kid. Your mom and dad are watching, but also is your wife. But make yourself proud. Understand?" Tex said with motivation.

Strip nodded. Tex nodded and smacked his helmet a bit. "Show em' who you are."

Strip nodded and got into his car. As he got into his car, Lynda came over. "Give em' hell!" She said with a smirk.

He reached for her hand and kissed her hand through his helmet. "Yes ma'am!"

The race was tough. Strip was locked in. He wasn't losing this.

Chick was behind him, but he didn't allow him to get close. Not even for a a second.

It was the battle of the newest drivers on the grid. They both had a championship at risk here. Strip knew chick was desperate.

And chick knew strip wasn't going to go down without a fight.

The two flipped flopped in position for the entire race. Strip was showing better data though.

They were on the final lap. Chick frowned as this race was quickly coming to an end. He wanted that title... he rushed over and tapped the back of strips car.

Strip lost control momentarily. A memory came back to him.

Strip walked with his dad. "Son, when you become a racer, there are people who will want to see you crash. When that happens, use their attempt against them. You understand?"

Strip nodded. "Yes."

Later that day, strip watched his father race. His blue car leading the pack. Suddenly a car tapped his bumper, and he started to loose control and ended up in the crash.

His father then drifted back onto the track, got his first place back and won the race.

Strips eyes widened. "That's what he meant."

Strip gripped the wheel and drifted back on the track, reclaiming his position, and winning the race.

Tex's eyes widened. "Holy shit..." this kid just won a championship, and pulled his own father's move.

The Dinoco team was screaming for joy, jumping and yelling. Lynda was cheering so loudly. Tex just nodded his head with pride.

Strip parked in the winners circle. He climbed out of his car and climbed to the top of his car. He raised one finger to the sky.

Number one.

Every other racer paled in comparison to his excellence. The move he pulled on the track showed he was everything everyone said.

Strip blew a kiss to the sky as he jumped off the car. His team swarmed him and lifted him up. He yelled as if it was a battle cry, showing he wasn't going down any time soon.

He was put down in front of the cameras. He pulled his helmet off. He had that post race glow.

He went up the the podium. He stood there, his eyes looked dark. Everyone was saying how it looked as if he was giving everyone a warning.

A warning as if he was going to do it again, and again, and again.

Lynda watched her husband on the podium. She liked that look on him. It was one she couldn't wait to see again. But, as he looked at her, his expression lightened. A soft smile crept onto his face.

He winked at her. She smiled a bit and just turned her head. Strip just chuckled a bit as he was handed his trophy.

He was the champion.

He got off the podium and walked over to Tex and Lynda. He pulled Lynda into a kiss. "My lucky charm, my sunshine." He kissed her face a bunch.  She just laughed and held onto him.

"My goodness! I don't do a damn thing." She said as she looked at him.

"You did so much." He chuckled a bit. But then he showed her his trophy. "Look at you. Champion." She said with a smirk.

He raised a brow. "I like it when you say it." He kissed her hand and then showed the trophy to Tex but Tex just hugged him tight.

"Your parents would be so proud of you" strip hugged him back tightly and smiled a bit.

"Yeah... yeah they would." He smiled a bit.

Strip got back to the motorhome with Lynda. He just wanted to relax. The team wanted to party but they decided it was best to do so later, so they planned it for tomorrow.

He kept the lights off as he unzipped his suit. "Tired?" Lynda said as she took her shoes off.

"Very."

She slightly touched his waist. He looked at her slightly as she looked at him. "How tired?"

He grabbed her wrist and pulled her towards him. She looked at him. His hair sticking to his face, and the winning glow that still radiated off of him.

"I like that look in your eyes when you win. It's so serious." She said as she wrapped her arms around his neck, her fingers in his hair.

"Then I'll win you more championships..." he said quietly.

"I'd like that, Rookie."

He smirked and kissed her.
