9 Months Later

Strip paced in the delivery room waiting room. He wasn't allowed to be in there for some reason. He just paced, which was driving Tex insane. "Kid sit down..."

He was still in his racing suit. The race had finished and he got word his wife was being sent to the delivery room.

The twins were a few days early. So, he was stressing.

"I can't." He said as he continued to pace. Every single thing was running through his mind. He just wanted to see his wife, and see his kids.

He knew they were twins. "At least sit down. You just raced, and you're gonna tire yourself out." Tex said as he caught his leg bouncing. Damn he was worried too.

As Strip was about to argue with Tex. "Is there a Mr. Strip Weathers here?"

Strip immediately turned around. The nurse smiled and motioned him to follow.

Strip immediately followed after her, and Tex was closely behind. "The pregnancy went so smoothly. Congratulations on your twin daughters."

Strip looked as if he was going to faint. But he stayed strong as the nurse opened the door to Lynda's room.

She was lying in her bed holding the two girls. Strip covered his mouth as he teared up. Lynda looked at him tired and motioned him over. Strip just leaned over and kissed his wife's head, before he laid his eyes on his little girls.

Tex was already crying.

"Oh they're so beautiful..." Strip said quietly as he just looked at them. He looked at Lynda and just said thank you over and over again.

"Our baby girls." She said with a tired smile. "Our little ole family." He said with a chuckle.

Later that day he was sitting in a chair holding them both. He hummed a country song as he admired his daughters. He let Lynda have time to rest.

But the entire time she laid there, she just watched him. Tex brought her a blanket. "You okay?" He asked.

She nodded a bit. "I'm stunned..." she just said quietly.

"Why?" Tex said with a knowing look as he sat in the chair next to her bed.

"Never saw myself getting to this point in my life." She said as she looked at him tiredly. He reached over and held her hand gently.

"Crazy isn't it? How life can switch up on you so quickly?" She held his hand back. "Yeah..." she said as she started to fall asleep again.

"Get some rest sunshine."

Tex let go of her hand carefully, and made his way over to Strip who was glued to his daughters. Tex sat next to them and admired the trio.

"Beautiful kids..." Tex said.

Strip nodded and looked at Tex. "They look just like their mother." He slowly looked back at this girls. He ended up putting them into their beds carefully.

He teared up looking at them again. Tex put a hand on his shoulder. "Congrats kid."

"Thanks." He said as he wiped his tears again.

"Did you two decide on names?" Tex asked. Strip nodded and sighed softly. "Lily and Sarah."

Strip fell asleep by Lynda's bedside a little while later. His hand was in hers. He didn't dare to let go.

He hadn't even changed out of racing suit. Lynda woke up a little while later. She saw him right there asleep by her side.

She ran her fingers through his hair gently. He shifted slightly but didn't wake up. It's crazy how her life became so so different when these two met.

She remembered crying outside of his car, calling him to come pick her up, him spoiling her, him giving her his sandals when she forgot to get shoes on, she remembers their first kiss after his first win, and she even remembers when he accidentally said he wants to marry her.

Oh such lovely memories. Now... it's about 6 years later, they've been married for five years, have seen three world championships, have a home together, have two beautiful daughters, and they're just so happy.

"Thank you, strip." She said quietly.

He mumbled in his sleep.

She couldn't help but imagine what would've happened if he didn't offer to help her get gas.

The next morning , she was in a wheelchair, holding the two kids as strip pushed her down to the lobby.

Tex was pulling the truck around. "I think I might call off for the rest do the season." Strip said. Lynda shot a glare at him.

He immediately knew not to do that. "Alright, I take it back."

"Strip you do know I'm still going to be traveling with you... for the races for as long as possible right?"

Strip sighed. He knew. He just wanted her to rest properly. "I just want you comfortable... not in a motorhome, with two newborns" he said as he looked at her

"And I don't want you to have to do all of this alone when I'm on the road." He said looking at her. Lynda just chuckled.

"I was prepared to do that most of the time anyways. I can't be with you at every race, you know that right?" She said with a didn't you know expression.

He knew. "I know..."

"And no you're not calling out for the rest of the season. You have a team that relies on you, and! I wanna see my husband race." She said with a smirk.

Strip just chuckled at that. "You tell me to race and I'll do it." He said as he watched Tex bring the car up. Strip for the car seats loaded and strapped in.

He then helped Lynda into the front seat. Strip sat in the back with the girls to keep them calm for their first car ride

"Who would've thought I would get to see three generations of a Weathers family." Tex said as he drove the most careful he ever has.

Lynda just smiled a bit at that. As she closed her eyes she felt strips hand hold hers. She just squeezed and fell asleep.
