"Amy, darling what's wrong" Lesley comfortingly placed her arms around her daughter. Allowing her daughter to break down in her arms.
A while later Amy wiped the tears off her cheeks, before roughly speaking.
"Sorry for crying all over your shoulder" Amy was trying to make herself look more presentable before returning to work
"You have nothing to be sorry for sweetie. What's got you so broken up honey" her mother lightly spoke before placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. She hesitated for a moment before comprising an answer to her mothers question
"I lost a patient today" her voice was still rough from the tears
"I'm sorry sweetheart, I know how much it sucks to lose a patient. But sweetheart it's also part of the job"
"Does it ever get easier?" She spoke lightly in a child like tone
"I wish I could tell you yes, but honestly no. It never gets easier but you learn how to deal with the loses of patients over time."
"How long did it...." The huskiness in her voice began to fade out and her naturally soft tone came back
"I'm still learning sweetie, but it has gotten easier over the years. I promise you that."
She nodded at her mothers answer before hugging her tightly.
"I love you Mom"
"I love you too sweet pea"
