"Your son is a danger to my daughter" Brooke barreled into Taylor's home, only stopping when she saw the other woman curled up on the couch,in a sickening state.
"Taylor are you ok?"
"I've got COVID, you shouldn't be here"
The sounds of high winds whistle through the sky. Tree branch smack against the windows.
"I should go than" Brooke began to walk to the door before Taylor stopped her
"No you can drive in this weather. You can stay here"
Brooke hesitated for a moment not wanting to catch the virus but she also didn't want to drive in this weather.
"Ok thanks Taylor"
The night was spent under tons of blankets while they slept next to each other. Trying to persevere heat from the loss of power.
The next morning, they spent making breakfast together happily before a phone call tore their worlds down.
"Mom, where are you? Are you okay?"
"Hope, sweetheart, slow down tell me what's going on"
"Your house, was severely destroyed in last nights storm. There's family pictures and Knick knacks scattered across the yard."
"Ok sweetie, I'll be over there soon. Ok I love you!"
"I love you too Mom"
The tone clicked off leaving Taylor behind her in a confused state
"What's going on?"
"My house was severely damaged in the storm"
"Are you ok?"Taylor asked while hugging her former friend
"I should be, I have to meet hope at the house"
Taylor hesitated before watching Brooke walk towards the door
"Wait, where are you going to stay?"
"Not sure, I'll probably stay with Hope or a hotel room until I find a new place"
"You can stay here if you want"
"Are you sure? I wouldn't want to intrude"
"You wouldn't be intruding because I offered. So go see hope and get your stuff. Here's a key for you to get back into the house." Taylor handed her the key before she was out the door.
The next week was spent with them getting situated with living in the same house. But also on top of it Brooke caught COVID from Taylor and let's just say she's a grumpy sick
"I hate you Taylor" Brooke spoke annoyedly while blowing her nose for the hundredth time that afternoon. Taylor just ignored the statement knowing she didn't actually mean the words she's speaking.
"Whatever you say Brooke" this statement annoyed her even more. Leading her to throw the Kleenex box across the room at Taylor. She placed back on the couch before bringing over herbal tea.
"Here, this should help the tickle in your throat" she lightly rubbed her back while Brooke quietly drank her tea. Brooke couldn't help but love the feeling of Taylor taking care of her even when she was bitchy and throwing things. She never had someone care about her like this before and it was nice. She missed Taylor when their friendship fell apart but her heart also ached for her and her presence. When she was around Taylor her stomach fluttered and her heart beats out of her chest from a simple touch. She was in love and didn't know what to do.
It was one night, when Brooke was incredibly delirious and exhausted from the meds. She spoke lightly brushing her hand against Taylor's cheek. "I love you so much, that it hurts" she lightly snores a few moments later leaving the other woman in shock but also a feeling of love rushing through her veins. She knew it could be just a Freudian slip or a deep unconscious feeling that came out from deliriousness from the meds but she could help but want it to be true.
The next morning she decided to confront the proclamation of love.
"Brooke I need to ask you something?"
"What Taylor" she yawned lightly before looking into her love's eyes
"Did you mean what you said last night"
"What did I say" not remembering a thing from last night
"You said you love me, did you mean it" she sat quiet for a moment wondering if she should answer honestly or keep her feelings at bay
"I mean't it Taylor, I love you, I have for a while"
Taylor lightly kissed her lips before Brooke pulled back saying "you don't want what I have, sweetheart"
"I'll take my chances" she kissed her again lightly until brooke became lightheaded again from the illness. They spent the rest of the day cuddled on the couch watching old movies. Wondering how they got so lucky to have each other in their lives.
