" Oh, The weather outside is frightful but the fire is so delightful since we've got no place to go let it snow! Let it snow!" The lyrics played  over the small radio as Jake, Aiden, Cameron, and Emma gathered around the tree waiting for their parents to finish breakfast. There was laughter of the kids that echoed through out the halls leading into the kitchen. Where Patrick was prepping the pancake batter for an assortment of pancakes and waffles while Liz worked on the bacon and eggs.
"How are you doing with your first Christmas without Robin" Liz asked checking on her best friend while flipping the sizzling bacon
"It's hard especially for Emma. We've  been missing her more recently. We are going to stop at robins grave to leave flowers  before heading to Mac's for Christmas dinner"
"I'm sorry I know how difficult it is to lose someone you love and share a child with" Liz remembering the good times of her and Jason's relationship and how Jake is spending his first Christmas without his father. Patrick didn't say anything else before setting the table while waiting for the waffles and pancakes to finish.
A while later Patrick called out for the Kids to come in for breakfast.
"Kids, breakfast."
Liz plated the eggs and bacon before asking the kids what they wanted to drink with their breakfast.
"Hey kiddos what do you want to drink for breakfast."
"Hot cocoa"
"Orange juice"
"Apple juice"
"Hot tea"
"Patrick?" Liz asked while working on boiling water and milk for the drinks
"I'll take a coffee please" he answered while she pour to mugs from the coffee pot.
After eating the group gathered around the tree in cheer from the children as they opened their gifts. While throwing balls of wrapping paper to their parents to get thrown out. As the afternoon went on they played Christmas karaoke and board games before Patrick and Emma had to leave for the day.
