Arriving at the CIA Headquarters the next morning, the four of them gathered in a meeting room along with Moria MacTaggert and four agents to talk about the Mutations spreading throughout the world.

Kara's mind was anywhere but the meeting, closing her ears off as Charles talked about his presentation on Mutations. Her eyes were heavy with exhaustion, having stayed up all night and morning.

Klaus had questioned it, which she blamed on not being able to sleep which wasn't a complete lie. She never slept, but last night was just for a different reason.

Whenever Charles had found her that morning getting ready, he asked if she was able to find anything. She told him the base of what she gathered which only sparked his curiosity more.

He was all smiles the rest of the morning, eager to find out more. She planned to tell Klaus about it if everything went alright with the coordinates, not wanting to give him false hope on anything.

Leaning her chin in her palm, her eyes closed for a second before she quickly opened them, forgetting she was in a meeting no matter how much she didn't want to be there in the first place.

She hated people in her business unless she allowed them to be so the CIA was a big deal compared to one singular person. It was unnecessary for them to know about Charles' discoveries.

"The advent of the nuclear age may have accelerated the mutation process. Individuals with extraordinary abilities may already be among us. Thank you very much." Charles stated, sitting down as he turned off the anatomy scan from the screen at the front of the room.

She rubbed her eyes rid of any heaviness so she could focus, knowing that was the moment she really needed to pay attention in case something happened.

She sat opposite of Klaus who sat beside Raven and Moira. Charles was beside her, all eyes moving to the man at the head of the table. Kara didn't quite catch his name but she could tell she already hated him by the way he judged Charles with his eyes.

"MacTaggert, you really think that some crackpot scientist is gonna make me believe in sparkly dames and vanishing men? You just bought yourself a one-way ticket back to the typing pool. This meeting is over." The man closed his binder and began standing up.

Kara tensed, her jaw clenching at the hateful words. Feeling a hand place itself on her elbow, she relaxed at Charles' touch.

"Uh, please, sit down, Agent MacTaggert. I didn't really expect you to believe me, given that all you could think about during my presentation was what sort of pie they were serving in the commissary." Charles looked away, seeming as though he were in thought before speaking again.

"It's apple pecan." He deadpanned. "I haven't been entirely honest with you, love, I'm sorry." He apologized to Moira before looking at the man again.

Kara caught Klaus' stare and she could tell he wanted to leave by the way he tapped his finger against his lips in boredom. She was sure he would rather be doing anything else than being there with them.

Raven simply sat there, ready to transform and reveal her Mutation to show the man they were actually real and it wasn't some made-up fairytale.

"You see, one of the many spectacular things my Mutation allows me to do is that I can read your mind." Kara stared emptily as Agent Stryker groaned.

"I've seen this before in a magic show. Are you gonna ask us to think of a number between one and ten now?" Stryker laughed, mocking him.

Charles forced a smile, "No, Agent Stryker. Although, I could ask you about your son, William, who you were thinking about, which is very nice. But I think I'd rather ask you about the Jupiter missiles America are currently placing in Turkey."
