When the twins set their eyes on the man they called their father, their irises lit up with fire. He was sneaking out of the submarine, his eyes looking around to see if he could get away without anyone noticing. However, the duo stared hatefully at the man as he turned and stopped abruptly upon seeing them standing there, their jaws tense and their hands itching to rip him to pieces.
Oh, how they looked like their father.
They were on the other side of the submarine, everyone else by the plane trying to fight off the Mutants while Erik took the lead with Shaw. This meant they had Mack to themselves and no one was in their way.
"Children, how lovely it is to see you again. Kara, you're looking great despite what I did to you. I'm surprised you're not dead already, considering what's inside of you." He smirked, trying to weasel his way out of the situation by talking.
Kara didn't miss how Klaus titled his head from the side of her, his eyebrows furrowing at the sentence but he figured Mack was just trying to egg them on.
"For a fifty-seven-year-old man, you seem awfully careless about your life that can be ended in one second." Kara huffed out, her fists clenching at her sides.
He shrugged, looking around at the palm trees and smiling like he wasn't their target. "I'm aware, daughter. As for my ageless looks, I'll let you know that I've tried a new serum which has prevented me from aging. Isn't it nice? Also, while you were so eager to speak to your grandfather, good secret by the way, you didn't seem to feel us following you, did you? Lucky me for killing my father after having known he was dead." He sighed, the information making Kara's shoulders drop.
He killed Ellis? Because of her, he was dead.
She swallowed the guilt, her top lip curling in hatred. "You know how this ends, Mack. Either give up or we won't go so easy on you." Klaus, who was holding his anger back, bit with a fierce grunt.
Mack tsked, walking around as he clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth. Holding his arms out, he smirked. "I'm afraid you've got the wrong idea there, kid. Truth is, you're both dying by my hand. You've both been a thorn in my side that I should've killed the day you ran from what you did to my wife." He growled, his eyes narrowing in a threatening manner.
The low drawl of a laugh emitted from Klaus' throat, his hands forming flames that Kara didn't protest or hold him back from. "You hurt my sister, it's time for you to feel what she felt." He muttered, making his way closer to their father and unleashing the wrath that had been bubbling up in his chest.
Kara watched it play out, knowing she shouldn't get in the way of Klaus as he and Mack bounced off of each other. Mack dodged Klaus' hits and the same thing happened with Klaus, the two going at it before Kara had enough and intervened.
Deciding not to use her ability just yet, she sent hits directed toward him, missing him by mere inches as he did the same. He unsheathed a knife from his waist and thrust it down, narrowly missing her as she took ahold of his wrists, the tip of the blade hovering over her half-blind eye.
"You always were the strongest one." He grumbled, sending his knee into her gut and making her back away for a second before they were at it again.
A yell was heard from the other side of the submarine and Kara briefly glanced back at Klaus, watching him try to gain his breath back. "Go." She ordered, jerking her head toward the direction.
He hesitated, the anger still visible in his eyes as he stared at the pair. "Klaus, I said go!" She grunted, turning back to her father after he ran off.
