It was the next day and both Charles and Erik were out dabbling to find more Mutants. Charles had informed her the night before when they had gotten back that the kids would be staying at the facility while he figured out how to deal with everything.

He also asked her if she would tag along with them later that day because there was a teenage boy he'd found with the same ability as her and he thought she'd persuade him to join their "team".

She reluctantly agreed and now she was sitting at the lake, waiting for the two men to get back from their time spent out. It was sometime between four and five o'clock due to the sun beginning to go down. She had been sitting there for the past two hours, allowing her mind to rest from everything that had happened in the last few weeks.

She knew it wasn't healthy to let it all build up until she lost her complete shit at the wrong time, so to prevent that, she excused herself from Raven's company and found herself at the lake where she usually spent her time trying to grasp onto her thoughts.

Her mind wandered aimlessly for the next thirty or so minutes until she was broken out of her trance by footsteps trailing behind her. She glanced back and noticed the car parked in front of the mansion while Erik walked towards her.

Her face was expressionless as he sat down beside her, leaving a few inches of room between them to avoid invading her personal space.

"It's beautiful out here." He muttered, his eyes gazing over the glistening lake water. It was indeed beautiful, that's why she spent a lot of her free time out there.

She hummed in response and kept her eyes on the water, his scent plaguing her nostrils after she inhaled. He smelled of metal, of course, leather, and very distinctive Hickory firewood smoke. She questioned that last one in her mind but kept her mouth closed about it. It was weirdly calming, she'd admit.

"How many Mutants did the two of you find?" She inquired with a raised eyebrow in his direction. She took a moment to examine his face, really analyze it for the first time.

His jaw was squared with dimple markings on either side of his lips, which were curved into an easy smile as he watched her. His cheekbones were permanent but only in situations when he was on edge or angry at something, she took notice long before that moment.

His forehead, crinkled with two wrinkle lines due to the constant motion of furrowing his eyebrows. They had that in common.

And his eyes, oh so beautiful, and soft, she realized every time he stared at her. Dull at times but they now held a glimmer of what she imagined was pure delight by finally being somewhere he was wanted and not painted out to be a villain.

They were a brighter hue of blue, almost matching the color of the sheets that occupied the bed she never slept in. She mentally rolled her eyes at the thought.

"Four. The last one is the boy Charles wants you to convince to join us." He had said in the midst of her studying his face. He noticed when her eyes analyzed his face and he in fact did the same.

Her lips, plump and a pretty shade of pink, were the thing he sought out first, knowing she wouldn't catch him with the way her eyes were studying his.

Her eyes, a stunning blue with specks of green painted around her irises. He recalled noticing the slash in her left eye, but he never brought it up and decided he wouldn't anytime soon unless she explained it to him. Behind the slash was a foggy white blur that stood out if someone really examined it, like the way he did right then.

His eyes found the scar on her temple and he somehow managed to think of many ways on how it had to have been connected to the blur of her left eye. He wondered but refrained from asking.
