11) fighting for answers

I got up from the table and went to go check on Riley.
*15 minutes later *
She still won't open the door no matter how much I beg. Remembering that I left the window unlocked I told Samantha she was in charge for a few minutes I left the room and went around the building to the fire escape that leads to our window.
*after he climbed up*
Opening the window I scream "what the hell Riley!? Your daughter just said her first words and all you do is walk into your room and lock the door?!? Not saying anything to anyone since you got back!? And to top it off you said this morning that you were going to check on Alexis when in reality you left without saying where the hell you were heading! So just answer this, because I'm your friend, your boyfriend, and your partner in a project the you were all excited about and then went all weird about. We are probably scaring the kids right now. And do you care? Honestly, I don't know. But do you even care about us? About your daughter? About me? You owe me that much is to tell me the answer to these questions." I was so pissed. She was silent for a long time. She still wouldn't look at me. I waited a few minutes but the situation didn't change. "You know Riley, from the moment I met you I liked you. I thought you would always be honest with me. That you cared about me and now about these kids. But I guess was I was wrong. If you can't be honest with me I can't be your boyfriend. I don't even know if I can be your friend. So until you figure out what ever is going on with you we're not friends we're not boyfriend and girlfriend we're just partners are being forced to work together. I hope you can figure it out because I don't want it to be this way. I hope your happy." I wasn't yelling this time. "I'm telling you the truth. Something you should try."with a mono tone and a frown I unlocked the door, walked out but made sure to slam the door behind me. I don't care it I scared her or if she hated me. All I care about are these kids. Even if I had to work half the time to make it work. Because it looks like the one person I thought I could always count on, is the one person I can never count on.
