Luke's pov
Alexis just said my name. Well, she tried to anyway. I won the bet. The baby talking sparked conversation between us. All except my mom. After she went next door she hasn't said a word. Then to top it off she walked to her room and locked the door. She won't let my dad in and from what I can hear he's begging her.
Time skip
My dad left the apartment and then ten minutes later I can hear him screaming at my mom. I can hear her slightly sobbing but I know he can't. He's too pissed off at her. Me and Sam had the little kids go play in Alexis' room so we could ease drop. "What the hell?!" Samantha whisper yelled at me. They were scaring us. I hugged her and said everything was going to be okay. At least I hope it will be. My dad is heading for the door so we grab the kids and go back into the living room like nothing happened. But it did. We were both scared. Just like the younger ones. Being older makes NO difference.
Samantha's pov
Zoe was already on the verge of tears when Lucas came out. I told her that everything was okay and I heard Luke say the same thing to Zack. Our lives were really messed up before this and I don't want that to happen again. It scared me when they were fighting. Then again, it sounded more like Lucas was ticked off and Riley didn't want to fight back. It was almost 10:00 pm by the time I snapped out of my thoughts. "Well goodnight. Come on Zoe. We have to get you ready for bed." I extend my hand towards her and she took it. Once Zoe calmed down and fell asleep I peeked my head out of the door to see what was going on. Luke had the same idea. Lucas was asleep on the couch when Riley went up to him and said loud enough we could hear but not wake him up, "I love you. I will always love you even if you don't love me. Here's why I've been acting strange and will never tell you who Alexis' father is. It's you." She slightly smiled and placed a quick kiss on his forehead. Shock over took me and my brother as we scrabbled back into our rooms.
