Do-guk always wanted to keep the tension of work out of his home and would act normal in front of his wife and son even if there are stressful things going on in his professional life. It's been a week since he is working on Lee Byeol's case and there hasn't been any cooperation from his client. She is deeply remorseful of her sin and wishes for harsher punishment.

All the evidences are accessible to the lawyer yet there is no clue of any suspicion except for the last evidence that he got the forensic result for. It was the tiny piece of blue silk fabric that got noticed in Jungkook's investigation. Three sets of fingerprints were discovered, victim's being one among them. The other two were unknown but Byeol's wasn't one.

The arraignment was two days back and with the reason of unstable mindset of the accused, he managed to plead for more time on the investigation than declaring Byeol as guilty. Jungkook and Sung-ho accompanied them to the court as well. There was a distant resemblance of Kim Do-guk with his new friend but he only kept smiling inside imagining Namjoon to be a successful lawyer like Do-guk one day.

Millions of worries rushed through his mind about his friendship with the law student. Considering his fashion sense and the expensive car he was driving, Jungkook knew of his inferior financial status to be a hindrance in the process of asking the other out, let alone date. Their phone and text conversations have increased now but due to Namjoon's upcoming project submission, they haven't been able to meet up.

As he dumped the gym bag carrying his uniform into the backseat of his car, the incoming text tune buzzed in his pocket. The sudden appearance of a smile was inevitable at the moment considering the person the text was from. Deciding the destination mutually, Jungkook kept his phone back into the pocket and started for the place he was supposed to meet Namjoon in.

Jungkook sided his car after spotting Namjoon's one nearby. He spat on his hand to brush up the stubborn fringes falling on his forehead. Checking himself for the last time in the interior rear view mirror, he unlocked the driver's seat door.

Checking around, Namjoon was nowhere to be found that increased the pace of his heartbeats. Being in the police service has its own effect on Jungkook's intuition leading to unthinkable scenarios. Ever since he's been in this profession, his mind would take a toll whenever there was some accident of a man or woman in their mid-fifties reported. No matter how distant he has become from his parents, his ethical beliefs still cared for them. Unknowingly, Namjoon has become an addition to the list of the ones he genuinely cares for.

"Up here!"

A hand from Namjoon's car signalled Jungkook to walk to the bonnet of the car. It was a fairly spacious one for two people to sit comfortably, supporting their back on the front window.
"Wow! That's quite a seat!" Jungkook expressed his admiration for it before jumping on it to take the seat beside Namjoon.

"So, what are we doing? I thought there would be some cafe around." Jungkook asked scratching his head at the usual nervousness he always feels around the younger.
"I don't want myself to be the reason of you breaking the diet rules, so here we are." Namjoon handed a protein bar and a no sugar fruit juice pouch to Jungkook.

"Seriously?" The question was out of surprise and giddiness how Namjoon valued his profession.
"Why not? I think you should stay away from junk food." The commanding tone actually sounded cute that urged Jungkook to ask, "Are we on a date?"

He applied all the cuss words he knew for himself for the silly question that might jeopardise their friendship. His impatience surpassed the progress he has made so far. The spine-chilling gaze of Namjoon made him almost froze in his place when the other decided to break the ice.

"Oh yeah! Exactly like 'under the stars' date! I gotta apologise for being a man though." Jungkook heaved a sigh of relief for Namjoon considering the question as a joke. He joined the laughter to remove the consternation out of his system.

"You live alone or with parents?" Namjoon asked taking a bite from the protein bar he brought for himself.
"Alone, my parents kind of disowned me."
"Disowned? What do you mean?" Namjoon turned his head towards Jungkook averting his gaze from the starlit sky while the elder considered it the best chance to reveal his sexuality and ask Namjoon's in return.

"I kind of liked someone, my best friend. One day, I confessed my feelings and it wasn't received in a good way. News travelled to my parents as they were friends with my best friends' parents. It started with a small argument but one thing lead to another and I was homeless at the age of 21. Some saved up pocket money helped to get by before I joined the training institution."

"That's really mean. She could have just rejected and moved on. I don't understand why your parents acted that harsh? Did she manipulate them?" Namjoon's questions indicated he was still not aware the best friend being a guy. Jungkook sipped on the juice pouch to moisten his throat before disclosing the next shocking truth of his life.
"Namjoon, my best friend wasn't a girl. It was a guy and I fell in love with him. My parents threw me out of the family because they were not ready to accept my sexuality. I am gay!"

A shocked gasp was the outcome of the revelation but Jungkook's nerves eased up after coming clean to Namjoon.
"I'm sorry if you feel uncomfortable with me and I totally understand if you want me to leave tight now." The hyperventilating Jungkook felt a hand on his shoulder.
"It's okay. I think you are brave that you got your life figured out even after such a difficult time. I don't know what to say about your best friend, but I can vouch for you that he lost a great person from his life. You're doing great, Jungkook."

The 26 years old financially averaged gay man didn't realise how badly he needed that evaluation until Namjoon provided it to him. He needed a person to believe in him, a hand to put on his shoulder saying everything's going to be fine. And this is something he doesn't want to lose over some insane crush he is having for that person in past one week. Namjoon's words weren't clear enough to understand his preference, but Jungkook is determined to wait for him and never let anything come in between this precious friendship he is starting to build with the 22 years old law student.
