Sung-ho cried out loud at the sharp pain on his shoulder but hearing the maniac laugh of Bin he realised life hasn't yet escaped from his body. He wasn't sure whether it was something to celebrate or something to fear as Bin seemed extremely determined to remove his existence from this world ever since the cabinets got unlocked.

"I'm getting older, Sung-ho. I aimed at your head but see what I did! Just the shoulder." He clicked his tongue against his teeth to show disappointment at the miss of aim.
Sung-ho somehow gathered some strange energy and bravery which made him drag his body backward and pick up his own gun that was lying few inches away while Bin was laughing at the dead body of the locksmith lying on the floor.

Before he could pick the gun up, his right arm got shot now while the bleeding in his shoulder was still profusely increasing. Although he screamed at the pain, his heart had courage to stand against a murderer.

"Oh no! Missed again! Now I need to aim at your head." As Bin was about to pull the trigger, he got shaken up vigorously with the gun being thrown at least few meters away.

"Not anymore, sir!"

Sung-ho's lips reacted at the scene positively even though his body kept excruciating. It was Jungkook holding an unarmed Bin from behind.

"It's clear! Come on in!" With Jungkook's command, Ho-sin arrived along with some other officers restraining Bin with hand cuffs.

"Although the death of this poor man will be investigated, we are arresting you on the charge of attempt to murder of Sung-ho shi which I will be the eye witness for, inspector Won Bin."

As Bin was being in his violent self cursing both Jungkook and Sung-ho, the other officers managed to bring him out of the Lee residence to the police van. Jungkook rushed to Sung-ho's side who had his left hand pressed on right one's shot and head tilted on shoulder to reduce the pain a little.

"I can't believe he did this to you!"
"Hey! I'm your senior, Jeon."
"And the bravest I have ever seen." Jungkook's compliment somehow brought a wider smile in the injured sub-inspector's face who tried to take benefit out of this moment by saying, "Don't forget to tell my wife about this in the next party."
Jungkook chuckled at the childishness of his senior at the mention of his beloved wife while the paramedics arrived to take Sung-ho to the hospital along with the locksmith who apparently seemed dead but had his breathing very much intact.

Jungkook decided to follow the ambulance rather than going to the bureau as Bin was already arrested. He was worried about Sung-ho and the locksmith whose lives are at stake at the moment. He was waiting in the reception when his name got called out.

"The bullet has been removed from his stomach and he will be monitored for next 12 hours. We can confirm him being out of danger after that although everything is hoped to be fine." The doctor attending the locksmith mentioned while the other one checking up on Sung-ho confirmed that no bullet was found in his body as the injuries on shoulder and hand were superficial due to miss of aim and he can meet him in the general ward.

A huge grin glued on the hero's face as Jungkook walked to him. Seeing that wide smile, his gaze shifted to the lady on the other bedside of Sung-ho. It was his wife that he was showing off his bravery to.

"Jeon! See I am completely fine."
"I know Sung-ho shi. Hello M'am." Jungkook bowed with a smile in front of the lady who returned the smile and said, "Oh don't be formal, call me noona. I have a younger brother of your age."

As they engaged in small talks, Jungkook got a call from Ho-sin asking him about the procedures to obtain the items recovered from the cabinets. Conveying his 'get well soon' wishes to Sung-ho, he left the hospital and arrived at the precinct to find all the items spread across a table.

An old file with government IDs of Byeol and Kun-woo's manager Do-hyung showing similar family names, a marriage certificate of the Lee couple and some hand written letters were found from the two cabinets that were broken by the locksmith at Bin's order but the reason of trying to kill the man was way out of Sung-ho's understanding. So, Jungkook knew he had to talk to Bin himself even if he tries to resist but what can any of these be related to the inspector was still left ambiguous.

He went through the letters to find some being addressed to Byeol while some written by her to a woman. The words clearly reflected a romantic relationship between Byeol and the woman who used a pseudonym of 'baby'. This was the line Jungkook could draw between Byeol's words and the letters.

Sequentially arranging the letters based on dates, Jungkook found the first few had exchanges of romantic words and confessions of their love. The first letter was written just three years back. In the next segment, they expressed their fear of the world who wouldn't accept them as lovers or wives. In the next range of time, they talked about giving no bother to the society and pursue their own dreams. Jungkook got emotional for a moment as his relationship with Namjoon is somewhat similar but the very recent letters proved him wrong.

All about Kun-woo's properties were mentioned. Byeol wanted to file for divorce and she told 'baby' that her husband was ready for it and even offered half of his assets in the divorce alimony. On the other hand, 'baby' showed nothing but insensitivity and rudeness towards Byeol saying she wants all of Kun-woo's money without which she won't accept Byeol anymore.

Several arguments were observed in their words but what amazed Jungkook was that they were exchanging letters in this current world yet there was no address mentioned. Those letters seemed more likely to be posted manually than via post office indicating there was someone helping the two to send the letters.

As his eyes fell on Byeol and Do-hyun's old pictures, an uncanny resemblance was noticed between the two. Bin has been acting violent and crazy due to which he hasn't been questioned yet and Sung-ho being admitted to hospital, Jungkook was the senior most person in the precinct and the higher authority assigned the entire case in his name immediately after Bin's arrest was notified.

Trying to mix and match the events and people, Jungkook got sucked into an alternate world but a call from Do-guk brought him out of it.

"Namjoon wants to talk to you. He remembers who the painting was gifted to and the one person who had access to all the items."

After disconnecting the call, Jungkook was about to storm out but got stopped by Ho-sin on the way.
"Sir, we have tried to reach out to inspector Won's family to inform about his arrest but his daughter's number is saying switched off."
Bin was a widower and lived with his daughter who never appeared with her father in any of the parties or get togethers, so it might be difficult to trace her.

"Keep checking the employee records of him to find any other family member. I will be back soon."
