Part 32 (Epilogue)

After 2 years....

Jungkook kept wiping his sweaty hands on the trouser fabric. The throat dried up in spite of emptying the entire bottle of water into it. He checked the wrist watch and the informed time already passed. He closed his eyes to concentrate on the words he memorised to speak when a hand landed on his shoulder. He squinted his eyes, unable to look at anyone properly.

"It's okay, Jungkook. Just speak your heart out. Talk about all the moments you missed out all these years."
"I am not scared of them downgrading me in front of you. I am scared of them disrespecting you. I will lose control over myself if they try to throw dirt on you, baby."

Namjoon rested his head on his fiancé's shoulder, hugging his arm.
"I don't care. Consider this as the final attempt to mend things between you and them."
"Let's just leave, baby. I don't want to do this."
"No! For me, please!"

Jungkook has no audacity to decline a request coming from the most adorable and handsome boyfriend. He held Namjoon's hands with his left hand while the right one pulled the younger by his waist to kiss deeply on the lips.

They are getting married next month and Namjoon wants Jungkook to have his parents by  his side in that wedding. This request originated as they bumped into a the elder Jeon couple last week in a party thrown by Do-guk and Sang-mi. It turned that Do-guk and Jungkook's father, Won-shik were school friends. Seeing Jungkook happy in a relationship, that too with someone belonging to the Kim family, kind of compelled them to go through their decision of disowning their only son.

Today, they would be visiting the young engaged couple in their small apartment and Jungkook is just stressed as hell. Namjoon has not put iPhone any expectation, but he wants Jungkook to have his parents' blessings before embarking on the next phase of their relationship.

Deeply engrossed in the kiss, Jungkook's hand slipped inside Namjoon's shirt which he batted away after breaking the kiss.
"They are going to ring the bell anytime, now." He glared at his fiancé who, by now, is super confident to go in front of his parents with the energy dose he just took.
"We will save it for the night, then." He winked with a smirk making Namjoon glare with more fake anger.

While the bickering continued, a ring on the door bell pumped out all horniness Jungkook was feeling a moment ago. Namjoon mocked him by hitting on arms and went to open the door. Jungkook followed him like a puppy waiting to be adopted by his human parents.

"Hello Mrs. Jeon, hello Mr. Jeon." Namjoon bowed in front of them with his dimpled smile and nudged Jungkook to do the same. He started acting like a robot out of utter nervousness. His parents maintained a calm composure that sent out a vibe of being not so cynical of this meeting. Namjoon was the one guiding them to the living room and serving refreshments and snacks while Jungkook just stood at one corner with fiddling fingers and cold feet.

"You can sit with us, you know."

So-hee, Jungkook's mother said looking at her son with a warm smile that triggered a lot of emotions and childhood memories forming a storm inside his heart. He meandered his way to the couch where they were seated with head lowered to control the fat tears that would fall off if left unsupervised.

"I meant beside me and your father, Kook."

She clarified as her son took a seat across them. He raised his head to look at his parents while those stubborn tears started to walk run down. Realising the situation, Namjoon quickly sat beside him holding his hands.

"It's okay, honey. You are doing good."

Jungkook's head was lowered again and eyes got closed at the sweet encouragement from his fiancée was calming him down. All of a sudden, he felt two hands on his back, pulling him in a hug. Sniffing the scent, he knew it's the same woman who has loved him unconditionally and raised him with so much care yet she never contacted him to meet the societal norms of a judgemental world.
