As Izana walked through the unfamiliar corridors of his new home, he couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. The unknown lady who had brought him here had promised that this was his "new home," but to Izana, it felt more like a prison than anything else.

His mind raced with questions - where was his mother? Why had she left him here? And who was this mysterious woman who now seemed to be in charge of him?

The lady led Izana into a small room with a bed and a desk, gesturing for him to sit down. As he did so, she sat across from him, her gaze piercing and intense.

"Izana," she began, her voice soft yet commanding. "I know this must be confusing for you. But I want you to know that you are safe here."

Izana nodded slowly, still unsure of what was happening. He missed his mother terribly and longed to be back in her arms.

"Your mother made a difficult decision," the woman continued. "But she did it because she believed it was the best thing for you."

Tears welled up in Izana's eyes as he struggled to understand. How could leaving him here be the best thing for him?

The woman reached out and gently took his hand in hers. "I promise you, Izana, we will take care of you here. You are not alone."

And in that moment, something shifted within Izana. Despite the confusion and fear swirling inside him, he felt a glimmer of hope - hope that maybe this new place could become a home after all.

As Izana sat in his new room, feeling lost and alone, a knock on the door startled him. He looked up to see a boy standing in the doorway, his mismatched eyes filled with curiosity.

"Hi, I'm Kakucho," the boy said with a shy smile. "I heard you just arrived. Do you want to play a game?"

Izana hesitated for a moment before nodding slowly. As they played together, Izana couldn't help but feel a sense of familiarity with Kakucho. The way he laughed reminded him of his younger sister Emma, whom he missed dearly.

As days turned into weeks, Izana and Kakucho became inseparable. They explored every corner of their new home together, finding solace in each other's company. Kakucho's playful spirit brought light into Izana's life, easing the pain of being separated from his family.

One day, as they sat under the shade of a tree in the courtyard, Izana finally opened up to Kakucho about his mother and how much he missed her.

"I understand," Kakucho said softly, placing a comforting hand on Izana's shoulder. "But maybe this place can become our home too."

A YEAR LATER

In the heart of winter, snowflakes danced gracefully from the sky, blanketing the world in a soft white embrace. Izana and Kakucho, gazed out at the wintry scene with wide eyes filled with wonder.

As they watched the snow fall gently to the ground, an idea sparked in Izana's mind. "Kakucho," he exclaimed excitedly, "let's build a snow fort! We can make it our castle and call it Tenjiku. I'll be the king!"

Kakucho's eyes lit up with enthusiasm as he nodded eagerly. The two boys quickly bundled up in their warmest coats and gloves before venturing outside into the snowy landscape. With laughter bubbling from their lips, they began to sculpt walls of snow, shaping them into towers and turrets fit for a royal abode.

As they worked side by side, their friendship deepened like the roots of an ancient tree. Izana took on his role as king with pride, while Kakucho played the loyal knight by his side. They shared stories and dreams within their icy fortress, creating a world all their own amidst the falling snow.

But as night descended and stars twinkled overhead, a sudden realization dawned upon Izana. "Kakucho," he whispered softly, "I don't want to leave you when someone comes to adopt me."

Tears welled in Kakucho's eyes as he hugged his friend tightly. "Izana," he murmured back, "we will always be brothers no matter where we go."

The snow fell gently outside the adoption center, blanketing the world in a cold, white silence. Izana sat huddled in a makeshift snow fort with Kakucho.

A woman approached them. She was tall and elegant, with dark hair and piercing eyes. Izana's ears perked up when she spoke his name.

"Izana," she said softly, "your birth mother has come to visit you."

Izana's heart raced as he followed her back into the building. 'Why was she here?'

Inside, karin stood, she reaked of cigarette and alcohol.

"Emma has died," Karin said quietly before walking away, leaving Izana frozen in shock.

As he stood there alone in the empty hallway, memories flooded back to him - of a sister whom he only knew for a few years, always longed for; of a family torn apart by tragedy; of a life that could have been if only fate had been kinder.

Tears welled up in Izana's eyes as he realized that even though he had finally seen his birth mother, he had also lost something precious - the chance to see his sister again.
