Today started the same as everyday the last month , wake up grab whatever is left in the fridge , look after mom and Carl catch up on all the school work I'm missing and then spend time with Tommy and repeat .
I was sat at the kitchen table with Carl and tommy . I was swirling around my fruit loops . I hate them , there so sweet and bright the opposite of what my life is right now . I glance at Carl across the table his face sunken like he hasn't slept as he glares at Tommy . I sigh , I know my brother isn't too fond of him ever since he met him . He told me that he is wrong for me but I don't listen to him , Tommy loves me and came all the way here to look after me . He cares . I hope when dad wakes up he will like him .
The day passes by slowly now the sun has set and all of us are watching a movie ice age to be exact , it was carls turn to pick. Tommy of course had to complain but he was outvoted. Carl was snuggled up to mom and Tommy had his arm round me as the movie flicks past my eyes I yawn trying to stay awake. I see Carl already failed his mouth hanging open , he always pulls that face while asleep and I almost smile at it till I remember when me and dad would take pictures of him like this and laugh . I long for him to be sitting in his chair right now watching with us but he isn't and I just have to accept that but I know one day he will be and everything will be back to normal again.
I was so wrong .
