I'm still in my dad's arms , face buried in his chest. Shielding me from my surroundings, I stopped crying I think the shock has worn off and now I'm left with anger and disgust. Part of me wishes he had a drawn out and excruciating death but I push those fantasies down as they start to scare myself. I shouldn't wish death upon anyone.

I finally loosened out of my Dad's protective grip, his warm hands extend to my face wiping my tears before he asks a question I don't know quite how to answer. " Are you alright ?" His voice echoes round my brain as I try fathom a response. " I'm Alive" I say staring into his icy blue eyes that I wished I had inherited, my family's blue eyes show so much emotion I can always read them. Right now he is guilty and ashamed that he couldn't protect me further but he is relieved that I alive .Our families fate got lucky again, I just hope the luck doesn't run out.

His eyes leave me for the first time since i entered his arms. He turns to Glenn who is looking wide eyed at the dead body of Tony "Holy shit" he says exasperated under his breath. "Glenn you alright?" My dad asks , I watch as Glenn nods a few too many times for it to be convincing " yeah yeah" he says still speaking in a hushed tone.

" Aaron ?" My dad continues, I look to Greene surprised to see his gaze already on me. Expect I can't easily read his cold brown eyes , he stares at me trailing my whole exterior not like Tony did but in a different way like he was looking for injury , like he was concerned but his blank face is the confusing contrast.

He looks back to my dad "I'm ok" he says his usual tone wavering a little. Dad nods and turns to Hershel who's eyes dart to the two corpses then back to my dad. They share a look of mutual understanding before Hershel confirms with a nod.

"Let's head back" Hershel says as I look out the dusted window to see the sun no longer shining. We were meant to be back before sun down, I hope mom and Carl aren't too worried and that Beth is doing ok.

My breaths still heavy linger in the air as I watch my dad check Tony's body taking his shotgun and two shells out his pocket. As he walks away I spot my smaller knife poking out of Tony's thigh, the brown wooden handle is the only part still visible outside of his flesh. I slowly get closer bending down , I take one more look at his face that's now marked with a bullet hole centred on his forehead. I exhale gripping the handle and pulling it out , the slicing sound fills the eerily quiet room as I wipe off the blood on the bodies already dirty shirt.

The metal of the knife is duller now but I can still see my morphed reflection while my familiar tear stained cheeks are clear. I sigh placing it pack in it's place on my belt , next to my Kukri and gun. I feel a hand on my shoulder and I flinch still finding myself on edge , I turn in my crouched position to see Hershel's kind but worried eyes staring into my own. " come on" he says gently as he guides me up and towards the exit.
