The bell rang to signal the end of the day, and I breathed a sigh of relief, my whole body relaxing ever so slightly because today had been stressful for some reason, especially since both Aquamarine and I had not said a word to each other, even though we were in the same classes and sat next to each other during them as well as sitting next to each other at lunch.

Thank Neptune, I thought and quickly packed up my bag before I started to make my way to the door and toward my locker where I knew that Brady would be waiting for me. Today was a long day, even though I have no idea why.

It's because Aquamarine hasn't talked to me today at all...

I pursed my lips in annoyance and shook my head, ignoring the pain in my heart. But I haven't said a word to her either...

My heart became filled with more pain and guilt, and I shook my head again and walked out of the door, following the throng of students that were exiting the classroom as well.

"Hey, Ty?" someone asked from behind me and gently grabbed my elbow, and my whole body grew warm and a slow shiver went down my spine, indicating that it was my Chosen, who had grabbed my elbow. "Can I talk to you for a minute alone, please?"

I turned my head to the side and looked at her from the corner of my eye.

Concern filled my body when I saw how frazzled and pale she looked, and I couldn't help but turn my body a little bit toward her.

"Yes," I said instantly and nodded in confirmation. I furrowed my brows and cocked my head while I studied her. "What is it? Are you ok?"

Aquamarine pressed her lips into a thin line, not saying a word. She looked around before she looked at me and took my hand in hers and started to lead me somewhere, and I shivered, following her, my heart skipping a beat before it started to pound faster and harder in my chest.

I didn't say a word while she led me to a private spot, and I stopped when she stopped and turned toward me.

Aquamarine sighed and let go of my hand, and I couldn't help but frown, not liking the fact that she took her hand out of mine. She looked around before she looked at me, clearing her throat. "I'm sorry, Ty," she said softly, her voice barely above a whisper, and I raised an eyebrow n question.

"For?" I asked before I furrowed my brows and cocked my head while I studied her. "What do you mean?" I asked and raised the eyebrow higher. "Why are you sorry?"

Aquamarine sighed and folded her arms across her chest before she shifted on her feet and cleared her throat. She looked away from me and pressed her lips into a thin line, not telling me why she was sorry.

I bit back a small sigh before I shook my head and cleared my throat, pressing my lips into a thin line. "Aquamarine," I said, trying but failing to keep the annoyance out of my voice. "Why are you sorry? What's wrong? What's happening?"

Aquamarine flinched and cleared her throat before she shook her head. She didn't say a word and shifted on her feet, looking everywhere but at me.

I tried to bite back another sigh before I shook my head and cleared my throat, moving a hand through my hair and across my face, annoyed. "You know what? Never mind," I said and shook my head again while I pursed my lips in annoyance. "I have to go to my locker and then get ready for swim practice. I do not have time to stay and wait for you to say why you are sorry. I'm sorry, but..." I shrugged and grimaced. "I can't."

Aquamarine hesitated before she slowly nodded, and a look of pain and guilt flashed through her eyes and across my face. "Can I walk with you, please?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
