The leading Death-Eater knocked on the huge doors and it was answered by a tall blonde woman with two-tone blonde and black hair and a pinched face. 'Come.' she simply said.
I didn't move, so the dark haired Death Eater grabbed my arm and dragged me inside, followed the woman down the hall and into a huge lounge area, with a grand chandelier hanging from the ceiling, high armchairs dotted the room, and a few people stood in the middle of the space. I instantly recognised the Dark Lord from how everyone else regarded him in a terrified manner. The woman who'd shown us in sat delicately on the edge of a chair, which a tall man stood behind; he had long straight blonde hair and a sour expression, if not a little uneasy at the Dark Lord's presence. I vaguely recognised the man from somewhere.
And then my father. He was kneeled near the Dark Lord, his head bowed slightly, looking scared.
'Ah, Erin Travers.' The Dark Lord said softly, pulling my focus back to him. 'Come.' He gestured to the space in the room.
I slowly walked over, stopping in front of the Dark Lord. 'Dark Lord.' I said subserviently, bowing my head, which seemed the right thing to do. Just show him respect, I thought.
'At least your daughter has more manners than you, Travers.' The Dark Lord said to my father.
'If I may ask, why am I here?' I asked.
'Your dear father has disrespected me and disobeyed me, Erin.' The Dark Lord explained. 'As I understand, he does not care for your mother anymore, so you were next available candidate I can use to make him behave.'
I could feel myself shaking.
'So I have a proposition for you, Erin. I did threaten to hurt your mother but when I realised that had no effect on him whatsoever, it seemed only fitting to threaten your life instead.' He continued.
'However, I am a merciful Lord. You will stay here with the Malfoys, and train as a Death Eater under their direct supervision. If you disobey them, you will be tortured. You fail in your training, you will be tortured. Do you understand?'
'Yes Dark Lord.' I nodded. I realised who the tall blonde man was now. Draco Malfoy's father, Lucius. So the woman must be his mother. That meant Draco would be here later, which brought me some comfort. I wouldn't be in a house full of complete strangers.
'But, as a show of assurance for your father to behave and not fall out of line again..' He raised his wand. 'Crucio.'
I crumpled to the floor in agony as a wave of horrifying pain ripped right through me. I cringed against the hard wood floor, screaming in agony. I distantly heard my father pleading with the Dark Lord to stop.
Eventually he let up, and the pain stopped. I collapsed limply on the floor, breathing heavily. My father rushed to my aid, pulling me into a sitting position. 'I'm so sorry, Erin.'
I couldn't speak. What hell had I entered into? I looked up as I noticed a newcomer had joined us, probably from hearing my screams.
A woman with thick dark hair, dark heavily lidded eyes, a tall and slim stature was standing near the Dark Lord. She wore a long black dress with a low neckline and lace sleeves. She was looking down at me, her expression unreadable. When we made eye contact, she smirked slightly.
'I'll give you ten minutes with your daughter, Travers.' The Dark Lord said coldly, before sweeping out of the room.
'Erin- Erin, listen to me.' My dad said urgently. 'Just do what the Malfoys say and you won't be harmed. I'm sorry we had to reunite like this, I tried my best to keep you shielded from any of this.'
'It's okay.' I sobbed.
'I don't want you to think I don't love you. Just listen to the Malfoys and try to stay out of as much trouble as you can.' He nodded, before getting up and leaving.
Draco's mother approached, pulling me to my feet. 'You'll start your training tomorrow, but for now, rest. I'll show you your room.' She guided me upstairs, and lead me to a huge bedroom with a dark green colour scheme. It was beautiful, with a four poster bed, a comfy armchair, a marble fireplace, and a bookshelf and paintings lined the walls.
'It's beautiful.' I couldn't help but say.
'Thank you dear, I'm Narcissa by the way.' She led me to the bed, where I pulled myself onto. 'You'll probably know my son, Draco.'
'Yes I do.' I nodded.
'He'll be back later on. My husband Lucius was the one downstairs, and my sister, Bellatrix Lestrange. It'll be mostly me and Bellatrix training you. If you need anything in the meantime, our new house-elf should be checking in to ask at some point.' She told me before leaving, closing the door behind her.
I edged further onto the bed and laid down on my side; I felt quite drained from that torturing curse. I was scared of the upcoming days and what they would make me do, but I had to do it, otherwise the Dark Lord would kill me. I just hoped they were merciful enough to let me write to my mother. She'd be going out of her mind with worry.
The door suddenly clicked open and I sat upright. The dark haired woman from earlier, walked in. Bellatrix Lestrange, Narcissa's sister. I edged away slightly. This woman gave off a really dangerous aura. I could tell from the way she'd stood so close to the Dark Lord earlier with an arrogant expression, that was was probably one of his most high up Death Eaters.
'Erin Travers.' She said, smirking. Her voice was resonant and patronising, almost snarky, matching her dark appearance. She crossed the room to me.
'What? Come to torture me more?' I said flatly.
She put her hand under my chin, lifting it so I was forced to make eye-contact. 'You're a fiery one.'
My heart started racing. 'What do you want?'
She smirked again. 'I think I'm going to have a lot of fun with you, missy.' she leaned forward, I could smell her perfume; a mix of a woody and amber scents. 'Get some rest. You've got a big day of training tomorrow, little Death Eater.' She smirked, before leaving the room.
I stared at the closed door, feeling extremely confused.
Hell's bell's, what just happened??
