1 Week Later

Luckily the Dark Lord approved of my progress, which I was relieved about; I didn't fancy another torture session.

My mother had written back to me after a day, she was reassured to hear I was okay, and she missed me too. I felt a weight lift off my chest when I heard from my mum. I still felt homesick sometimes, but not as badly as before. The Malfoys was starting to feel like home.

Speaking of the Malfoy's, I was worried about Draco. He seemed very troubled and drawn out. He'd shut himself away most of the past week, and I'd tried to ask him what was wrong, but he'd shut me down and refused to answer, insisting that everything was fine. I knew something was up. It was since Narcissa had pulled him away for a private talk. I didn't know whether it was about me, or my dad or something completely unrelated. Whatever it was, it had him in a state.

It was no secret now in the Wizarding world that the Dark Lord had returned to power. We knew the Dark Lord was still recruiting and getting people on his side. I'd overheard talks between Lucius and Narcissa. It meant that Lucius was off on errands as well as Bellatrix, so it was only Narcissa who was training me at the moment, so when she was too busy, she let me take a day off from it.

It was a beautiful Saturday when Draco came into the lounge where I was curled up in a chair, reading a book. 'Erin, my mother has asked me to train you today.' He said.

'Oh.' I put the book down. 'Okay.'

'Don't worry about getting changed into your training clothes.' He said, walking out to the back garden as I followed.

We entered the brightly lit garden; the summer sun was beating down.

'We'll start with a little duelling practice first, and then onto the harder stuff.' Draco started. 'Take your wand out.'

'Okay, but first, tell me what's going on.'

'What do you mean?' He looked down.

'Draco, I'm not stupid, you've been acting really odd the past week. Something has got you scared, and really tense.' I frowned. 'You can trust me. What's going on?'

He sighed. 'I don't know if I can tell you. I've been set a mission by the Dark Lord for when I return to Hogwarts, but it's dangerous for other people to know because I can't get caught.'

'Draco, I literally don't go anywhere beyond this house, who can I tell?'

'Your mother for starters.'

'Draco, your mother reviews my letters before I send them off, and do you really think I'd go spouting off to my mother about what goes on here? I'm not thick.' I rolled my eyes.

'Well true, but I can't tell you unless my mother says so. The Dark Lord forbade her to even speak of it. The only people who know are my father, mother and aunt Bellatrix, and it can't go any further than them.' He shook his head. 'I'm sorry.'

I sighed in irritation. 'What's the point of them training me to be a Death Eater if they're not going to tell me everything that goes on?'

'I am sorry, I wish I could tell you, but it's too important.'

'Okay, I understand.' I nodded.

'Right, shall we get on with some training?' He prompted.

'Yeah, sure.' I laughed, pulling my wand out.
