Getting back to the compound, Loki helped you carry your bags up the stairs and into your suite. You collected Willow on your way by and brought her with you. She seemed to be in good spirits as she sprinted up the stairs ahead of you. You couldn't help but giggle at her antics. When Loki came into your suite, he went as far as the door and waited for you to invite him in.
"You can come in," you finally said, after setting down some of the bags on the couch.
"Thank you" he gave a smile and it reached his eyes. He looked around the room, seeing that had yet to be decorated. "You have no personal items" he said after a moment.
"I didn't really collect much," you shook your head. "I left most of my awards and accolades back at Shield."
"What about your art?" he asked, shocking you with his knowledge.
"I haven't really picked it up since I was rescued by Nick" you admitted. "I've wanted to, I just fell short of actually starting" you said a little shyly.
"That's a shame, I'm sure you were talented to have a full scholarship" he said, setting down the bags.
"I guess we will never know," you shook your head. "This is my life now," you added.
"Is it?" he asked, seeming curious.
"I like spending time reading too much," you sighed as he reached for you. You still were hesitant to allow him to touch you, but he curled his fingers around your waist and pulled you in closer to his body. He gave a loving kiss to your temple and hummed to himself as though he didn't believe your words anymore than you did. It was true, you yearned to draw and paint again. But over the years your confidence had dwindled, and you didn't have the heart to be disappointed in yourself again. He pulled you in more and put his chin on top of your head and just stood there waiting for you to cave in and speak. "You've held me long enough now" you said, the butterflies in your stomach rampant.
"In twenty four hours, I shall have tasted the sweet nectar of your lips and I will finally know what the midgardians call Heaven tastes like" he said out of nowhere and you blushed, pulling away but he held you firm against his body, even daring to pull you in more.
"You had your chance, you didn't take it. You won't be kissing me" you said, a little disgruntled.
"I will" he said firmly, as though he couldn't be swayed.
"Consent is key in any relationship" you said quickly.
"Ah, so you admit we are in a relationship?" he asked hopefully.
"Not even close" you shook your head.
"Maybe I should try my luck now and see if the gods of fortune smile upon me," he said, his voice husky. "They did earlier when I saw you in that red dress," he added.
"Loki" you said in a warning.
"I'll wait, but be careful, darling. My patience only goes so far, Kitten" he kissed the top of your head and stepped away. "I'll see you at supper" he said with a small bow, and he walked out of the room. You promptly went and put all your clothes away and your books away on some of the shelves, picking out one of the books that really stood out to you while you were browsing. You walked out and went to the end of the hall beside your room and went into your special room and deposited the book you had picked out. Willow came in and gave a soft bark, jumping up on the couch. You checked the time on your watch and sat down on the couch beside her, running your fingers through her fur until supper time.

"Where is everyone?" you asked when you got down to the dining room.
"Clint, Scott, Peter and Pietro have gone away for the weekend" Tony advised you. "Here, this is my wife Pepper and our head of security Happy Hogan" he introduced the new faces. Gabby came in and stood beside you and she nodded to them.
"Hello" you gave a tentative smile.
"We've heard so much about you two. Tony's so excited to have you here. We are as well" Pepper gave a broad smile. She got up and came around to shake both of your hands.
"Nat and Bruce went out on a double date with Vision and Wanda" Happy added, and shook your hands as well.
"Worry not fair maidens, you'll be in good company" Thor promised.
"Is this Willow?" Pepper went over and started petting her. "Oh, we are so excited to have a dog on the compound now."
"How long have you had her?" Happy asked as the two of you went to take your seats. Gabby grabbed the spot beside Bucky and you automatically sat beside her, which put you beside Loki again. It was like he was anticipating it.
"Five years," you said shyly.
"Oh she's going to love it here" Pepper cooed.
"How was your afternoon?" Steve asked curiously as the food got passed around.
"We signed contracts and then we went shopping for a few things" Gabby answered for the both of you.
"Did you get everything you need?" Sam asked. Gabby chuckled in response and shook her head and all eyes went to you.
"I have a few more things I wish to get, but I'll have it delivered" you said softly. "I'd rather avoid the crowds if possible," you added.
"You did fine with the crowds today" Loki seemed confused.
"That's because I had to," you whispered.
"Did my presence help?" he asked, leaning in towards you a little more.

"Maybe a little" you flushed at the admission. You had butterflies in your stomach from the way he was smiling at you and leaning in more to see you full on. You didn't know what to do with yourself. You took some food and passed it down to Loki, who purposely brushed his long fingers against your own. Pepper and Tony picked up the conversation from there, but you could barely hear them with the dull thud in your ears. You knew your face was flushed still under Loki's close gaze. As soon as you finished you brought in your dishes to the kitchen, much to the surprise of the kitchen staff and you grabbed Willow to go for an evening walk after her wet food.

"What are you doing here?" you asked sharply. After taking Willow for her walk and leaving her with Gabby you went to your special room to listen to music. You had it up loud enough to feel the base vibrating throughout your body. You were in your powder blue pajamas short set, laying on your stomach on the swing. You had left your hair up in its bun until you retired to your bedroom for the evening, and your face was bare of any makeup. You had jumped when the door opened and in walked Loki in a pair of black sweatpants and an emerald green t-shirt.
"I felt my time was better spent elsewhere" he came into the room and his eyes raked over your entire figure. You realized a lot more skin was showing than usual and you moved to hide some. He licked his lips and took a seat on the couch across from you, a book in his hand and he just sat there studying you.
"This is my alone time" you reminded him.
"I'll be quiet as a mouse," he promised.
"I'm not dressed for company" you huffed.
"I'm not company, I am your future betrothed" he shrugged.
"How do you know we will get along well enough to become betrothed?" you finally demanded.
"Because you are mine. You were made for me. You breathed life into me in the midst of battle and took it away all in the same moment. You may not see it yet, but I do. You can fight your desire for me all you want, and puff up like a kitten and try to refuse me... but I will have you. And you already have me" he said softly, but you heard it above the music. "Do you not believe in love at first sight?" he asked.
"I used to," you whispered.
"Well, I didn't until the moment I saw you" he advised you and you held your breath, staring into his beautiful blue green eyes. The same eyes that haunt your dreams every night. "Trust me, I am now a devout believer" he said, leaning forward with his hands on his knees. "I do not wish to spend time apart from you, so here I am, at your mercy."
You took everything he said into consideration. You were shocked at the turn of events, and you were still trying to wrap your head around it. You were just you, you didn't understand what he was so mesmerized by.
"I'm not changing the music" you said, deciding not to tell him to go. If he wanted to spend time with you, you weren't going to complain. You were secretly starting to crave his touches.
"I wouldn't expect you to" he gave a smile and stood up and came over. You looked at him, almost daring him to make you move and he smirked before using his magic to pick you up. He then sat down and slowly brought you back down so your head was in his lap. You huffed even though you secretly loved that action, and went back to reading before you felt his fingers go into your hair and he pulled it out of its bun. You went to sit up in surprise, but he held his hand on your shoulder to keep you down.
"What are you doing?" you demanded.
"Playing with the soft tendrils of your hair" he shrugged, running his fingers through your locks. You growled a little and he just bent forward and pressed a kiss to your temple as though calming you was really that simple. You went back to your book, slowly relaxing to the music and the feeling of him playing in your hair. You felt something cover you and looked down to see a green satin sheet was spread across you and you looked up at Loki who gave a small smile and a shrug. You went back to your book, trying like mad to focus, but it was hard. You wanted to talk to him more, but you didn't know what to say.
A knock came a short time later and Gabby popped her head in and she didn't even look surprised. You turned down the music instantly and she walked in with Willow and sat down on the couch.
"I can't let you have it too easy, god of Mischief" Gabby said with a smirk on her face as she laid back with her book. "They discovered you left a fake Loki in Bucky's room and they were looking for you. I don't know why they didn't check here first" she said, shrugging.
"I just needed a moment to hold my future queen" Loki said easily and Gabby's eyes narrowed at him.
"I'll bite your dick off if you hurt her," she warned.
"I'm right here" you complained.
"Yes darling, and I anticipate worse than that, Gabby" Loki nodded in acknowledgement.
