"Alright team, now that you're almost all done eating. I have an announcement" Tony said from where he sat between Pepper and Happy. You looked up curiously and watched him as he waited for all eyes to be on him. "You all have missions this week, and the details are in your emails" he said with a grin.
"Did you seriously have to make a big announcement?" Nat asked him, seeming a little cross with him.
"Of course, we have new blood on the team" Tony said, pointing at where you and Gabby were sitting. You didn't waste time and looked at your phone and you blushed seeing that you were on missions with Loki, Scott, Clint, and Thor. Gabby was on missions with Bucky, Steve, Sam and Nat. Wanda was with Pietro, Peter, and Vision. You saw you were scheduled for a few overnight missions, as were the others.
"Wait, you're separating us?" Gabby asked with a glare at Tony.
"Just for this week. We are trying out something new" Steve said, seeing that Gabby's temper was about to flare up.
"We work together, we are a unit" she said, seeming almost livid.
"It's okay Gabby, we have to learn to be a unit with the team too" you said, reaching out and taking her hand. She calmed down a bit and sat back down beside you and sniffed you. You made sure that you were not projecting the anxiety you were feeling. She seemed to catch onto it anyways.
"I don't like it," she said thickly. "Neither do you," she pointed out.
"No, but this is what we signed up for" you whispered to her.
"Can you revisit this?" Gabby turned her attention back to Tony who frowned a little.
"Just try it for this week. We added you to already existing teams" he said softly.
"We did try to put you with people that you get along with" Steve offered.
"Yeah, but no sucking face during missions" Scott quipped and you blushed and looked away.
"I think the girls will be okay," Bruce chuckled.
"I didn't say it for them," Scott shrugged.
"Yeah, I don't think any of us are worried about the girls," Clint barked a laugh. You chanced a look at Loki who's cheeks were slightly tinted pink and he gave you a quick smile before leaning in and kissing you on your temple.
"You're free to review the mission details for the week. Gym if you want to, but you're free to go. Don't forget meal times though" Tony said with flourish. You nodded and finished eating and gave a sigh before bringing your dishes into the kitchen. Gabby got up and left with Bucky, holding his hand and heading upstairs. You called Willow and headed back up to your suite. You saw Gabby's door was closed again. You had wanted to reassure her, but figured she was with her Bucky and would be fine. Just in case you left her an ice rose outside her bedroom door and headed into your room with Willow. You were sitting up on your couch with your feet on the coffee table, reading over the mission details on the dockets when Loki knocked on the doorframe. Willow let out a small bark from her spot on the chair and looked up at him.
"Come in" you gave a bright smile.
"I needed a moment away from my brother" Loki came in and sat on the couch beside you before laying down and putting his head on your lap. You giggled and ran your fingers through his hair.
"Is someone having a rough day?" you asked softly.
"You live so close, but it's regrettable that I have to go so far for something as small as a cuddle" he nuzzled in. "I am looking forward to spending the week with you" he said with his eyes closed as he visibly relaxed.
"I am too" you cooed, bending forward to kiss him on his forehead. His eyes opened and he broke out into a smile.
"You are certainly getting more expressive in your affections, and I am relishing in it" he said, gazing into your eyes.
"What do you have planned for our date on Saturday afternoon?" you asked, changing the subject much like he did when you asked if he was having a rough day.
"Well since I can't have you all evening, I thought perhaps we would go for a walk and stop at a cafe" he suggested and you smiled.
"That sounds perfect" you cooed.
"There is also, of course, a bookstore I think you'll like," he added with a sly grin.
"You know me well" you sighed happily. "All of these missions have me far from any action" you noticed. "My only job is to go in and get the data" you huffed.
"Tony and Steve have been needing more people that are good with computers as Vision and Wanda do not like to be separated. We weren't able to send this many teams on missions for data retrieval before" he shrugged. "I'm sure there is finer wording, however that's how they put it."
"You're not good with computers?" you asked in surprise.
"I know how to browse the internet and do mission reports. We all do" he shrugged. "Beyond that, it is something I don't care to learn," he admitted. "I far prefer the battles," he added.
"Just the battles?" you asked, raising your eyebrows.
"Darling, were I not a gentleman I would be showing you where my prowess would be better suited. For now, we shall go with that. I am better with the attack and defense, however I will not say no to a cuddle once in a while" he nuzzled in. "You make a fantastic pillow" he added softly.
"Where's your kitty today?" you asked and you didn't miss the slight flush on his cheeks.
"Kitty is doing what he likes best. Hiding" he turned his head and gave you a soft kiss on your knee.
"Did you go over tonight's mission notes?" you asked.
"Yes of course darling, I read over it quickly with my brother then came to you for some better company" he promised. You hummed and went back to reading. "Where is your music?" he asked.
"I have the door opened, I didn't think anyone would appreciate it" you shook your head.
"Please turn it on, it soothes me," he gave you a soft look and you nodded, turning the music on.Shortly after your evening meal you found yourself suiting up in your catsuit, getting ready to go. It fit perfectly against your curves and you found yourself impressed with it. You put on your holsters for weapons and filled them before putting five stick drives in one of the small pockets on the belt. You headed out to the jet where Clint was already in the pilot's seat, with Scott sitting in the co-pilot's chair with a huge grin on his face.
"Hey Y/N! How are you with nighttime missions?" he asked a bit excitedly.
"I'm pretty good with them" you smiled easily at him.
"It can get cold at night, did you bring a sweater?" he asked a little worriedly.
"If she cares for a sweater, I shall provide one" Loki said as he walked in and sat down directly beside you and strapped in.
"Lady Y/N, are you ready?" Thor asked, taking a seat on the other side of you.
"Always ready!" you gave a quick smile. "Are you?" you asked a little coyly. He chuckled and nodded.
"I do appreciate a good reason to battle, where diplomacy does not reside" he nodded. "I've learned the Hydra and AIM agents do not do well with diplomacy, so Stormbreaker and I shall speak to them."
"I prefer my scepter that Tony made for me. It is well balanced and has a way of knocking out our prisoners before I have to do much" Loki said, showing you his scepter. It was a black and gold colored metal, with an emerald jewel at the end. It looked much like the one he had in New York when he was still under mind control, but now it suited him more and the man he had become.
"Did you read over the mission details?" Clint asked, closing up the back and starting to take off flight.
"Yes, it's a safe house and quite busy" you nodded. "It is supposed to have higher up authorities that if we can, we arrest. It also has data that's important to our cause" you nodded. "I also go in last and just for the computers" you gestured to the prisoner cells taking up half the jet.
"Good, I'll be on the outside keeping you company until it's safe to go in" he assured you.
The rest of the flight was quiet, everyone with their own thoughts. Loki kept one hand on your thigh, and squeezed once in a while almost as though he was nervous about the mission. You hummed to yourself, and Scott started playing uplifting music on his phone and dancing in his seat getting you to giggle. He was almost jovial, but you could tell it was almost a ruse. He was trying to keep the mood light for everyone in the jet.
When Clint landed the jet, the cloaking device was already in effect. He was on top of a large apartment building, and the five of you got out. Clint set himself up beside the jet and pointed across the street and you saw the target building. There seemed to be a lot of civilians running around, but that didn't stop any missions in the past. This felt far more serious however.
"There's too many civilians on the street" you muttered to no one in particular.
"We've got this," Clint assured you.
"I'd like to order some delivery," Scott said with a huge grin. He got up on the side of the building and hit his suit and went down to the size of an ant.
"You got it buddy" Clint chuckled, taking out an arrow. He aimed it across the way at the rooftop door and you saw him give Scott a minute to get on the end of the arrow. He drew back his arm and fired, hitting the door in the center. You saw Scott suddenly come back to his full size and wave that he was okay before he went down to the size of an ant again and disappeared.
"What are we going to do about all the civilians?" you asked Clint curiously.
"We have Loki for that" he smirked. You looked at Loki and he was suddenly in a police uniform with his hair tied back and under a hat. Thor beside him in a similar fashion.
"We will just walk right in the front door, my darling" Loki winked, and the two of them left.
