Chapter 26

"What is that?" Clint asked when you came out of the locker room with a duffel bag along with your cat suit.
"Scott said he has low blood sugar, so I brought all the extra snacks from my suite. I'll buy more this weekend" you shrugged and he laughed.
"Thank you for thinking of me," Scott chuckled.
"Besides, I got the good stuff" you said, conspiratorially.
"What good stuff?" Thor asked curiously.
"I'll show you on the jet" you promised.
"Come my darling, we have mission details to review. It's promising to be another long night" Loki held out his hand and you took it. He reached for your other hand and took your duffel bag easily and started leading you to the jet.
Clint went to pilot the jet, and Scott took the co-pilot seat before you strapped in between Thor and Loki. You took out your phone and started going over the mission data. This time it was a low key base in Canada on a small island, but it was out in the woods. You just had land co-ordinates to go by. You saw it was just a three level base, but it wasn't that large. It would be a skeleton crew when you got there. You were hopeful that you would be scheduled to go in, however you were again, on the outside to keep watch with Clint. Your one job was to just go in and get the intel once Loki and Thor started bringing the prisoners to the jet. Scott was the first to go in again, but that was to also check for any possible hostages first.
"So what is this good stuff?" Scott asked once you were fully in the air, and Clint had it on autopilot and the cloaking device on.
"Strawberries" you giggled.
"I sneak that into the compound too" he chuckled. "I was hoping for something chocolate," he said.
"I don't have too much chocolate yet. I've been craving some chocolate covered strawberries, but I don't even know where to find them. I used to be able to get some at the grocery store in the freezer section. They were good" you said softly.
"I believe I can find some," Loki offered. "It is a wonderful treat," he added.
"Ooh, if you can find them the five of us can go to my suite and do our reports and eat our sweets" you danced in your seat, excited at the notion. "I also brought some Tamari almonds for tonight," you told them.
"That sounds wonderful," Clint said quickly. "You're putting my granola bars to shame," he chuckled.
"Those have chocolate in them, we will need those too" you pointed out. "I could use some chocolate in my life tonight" you said with a soft smile.
"Deal" Clint nodded in approval.
"This mission outline is the same as last night" Scott said, looking it over.
"I noticed that," you sighed. "Who went in and got the data before?" you asked.
"I did," Clint told you. "Scott would come out and keep watch while I ran in. I feel better with it this way" he added.
"I can live with that. I was just worried if I ever got sick, that no one would be able to get the data" you frowned.
"They would be down two bodies on the team, because I would stay to nurse you back to health my darling" Loki said, taking your hand and kissing the knuckles.
"You can't do that" you giggled.
"He's stubborn enough, he would stay behind" Thor shook his head. "I do love you brother, but it is not one of your finer attributes."
"Are you feeling unwell?" Loki asked quickly.
"No, Loki, I feel just fine" you gave a bright smile.

"There's no hostages" Scott said with a sigh as he popped up behind you and Clint again. The two of you were watching the base from a couple of tree limbs. Once in a while you would look around at the landscaping, but it was mainly trees at the moment. It had been eerily quiet all evening with the exception of the crickets making their evening music and the occasional frog. You saw Clint look at his phone and give a bit of a sigh.
"Can you go to the jet and get the two duffel bags of C4?" Clint looked down at him.
"New orders?" Scott asked curiously.
"Yeah, Tony says to blow it," Clint nodded. "I'll go in and do that, I don't want them coming back to anything but rubble."
"You got it boss" Scott did a mock salute and Clint chuckled and waved him off.
"I've got a granola bar in it for you" Clint called to him, and that seemed to put a bit more pep in his step. "So what do you say kid? How are you liking it with the Avengers?" he asked.
"I like it" you thought about it for a moment. "I'm not used to being away from Gabby, or the were's and other enhanced. I think I need to find my own niche here with the team" you said thoughtfully.
"I think you are doing pretty good" he encouraged you. "My wife and kids want to meet the two of you at one point. They don't really come to the compound except for special occasions"
"You've talked about us?" you asked curiously.
"Of course. Laura, my wife, is just glad that I don't have to really go into the bases anymore. We will keep tonight as an exception" he smirked.
"I know how to put down the chargers, I can do it" you offered.
"Nah, I'll go in while you are doing your computer thing. We will be done a bit faster, and that means an early night if we can make it" he said with a hopeful tilt.
"But I cored all the strawberries already" you frowned.
"Oh don't you worry. We will be getting into all those snacks you brought" he promised. "We will have a small picnic in the jet" he added, and you smiled happily at the news.
"Alright my darling, we are just taking them out to the jet new" Loki said in the comms and you nodded to Clint that you were headed in. You walked across confidently to the front door and opened it up to see several Hydra and AIM agents tied up and gagged by the front door, and Thor was holding two of them and headed your way. You stood back and held the door open and he nodded his thanks before walking past you and going to the jet. Loki grabbed two prisoners as well, but paused by the front door to give you a kiss on top of your head before he finished walking by. You strolled past the hostages and made your way to one of the many computer rooms.
You started hacking into the computers and took the extra time to make sure you had all of the intel off the computer saved to an external drive before making your way to the next computer. Clint at one point said he was headed in, but you barely acknowledged him. You were lost in your own world. You continued to move through the building and get data, and at the last computer you started humming to yourself as you worked.
"Heads up, there's four coming back in the building. Thor and Loki, you're up. Be careful Y/N and Clint" Scott said in your ear. You perked up and left the drive to continue downloading as you took out your gun and went to the door and peered out.
"I'm coming, don't be reckless" Loki said, sounding a little breathless.
"Stay hidden," Thor added and you rolled your eyes.
You saw two men come into your hallway and you used your abilities to freeze them up to their heads in ice. They both started screaming out profanities and struggling, but it was to no avail.
"I've got two on the upper floor" you finally said into the comm.
"I've got two in the basement, they are fast asleep" Clint said after a moment.
"Careful, Tony and Steve might put the two of you on the inside next week instead" Scott joked while you saw Loki come to the upper floors.
"Were you safe my darling?" Loki walked past the two frozen men and came to you, wrapping his arms around you and giving you a kiss on top of the head.
"Of course, they didn't even know I was here at first," you reassured him. He nodded appreciatively and you pulled back the ice and his posture changed immediately to a protective stance. One of the men tried to reach for his gun, but Loki threw a dagger at him and he cried out in pain. The second man made a run for it but Loki pounced. You watched with interest while he managed to cuff both men and gag them before you walked back into the lab you were in and checked the data stick. It was done downloading, so you pulled out the external drive and uploaded a virus. You heard movement in the hallway as Loki took his prisoners away, and you waited until your job was completely done.
"All ready kid?" Clint came in with his two empty duffel bags in one hand and he placed a charge on the wall in the room you were in.
"All ready" you quickly smiled and he nodded, pointing to the door. You hurried out with him on your heels. Once you were outside he walked beside you instead as the pair of you made your way back towards the jet.
"Those chargers are set to go off any moment now, we better get in" Clint gestured for you to hurry up. The five of you were just in the jet and it had closed up when you heard several explosions and you looked out the window to see the building seeming to collapse on itself so that it was effectively just rubble.
"Hydra and Aim are going to be pissed," Scott said in awe.
"Good" you nodded as you got strapped in. Once everyone else was strapped in, Clint took the jet up into the skies and immediately hit autopilot.
"I do believe I promised a lady a picnic" he said with a smirk and came over. You unstrapped and got out your duffle bag and on one of the weapons crates you put down your bag and emptied it of all the treats you used to have in your suite. Clint added several granola bars and you started with grabbing a few strawberries and a granola bar. The food quickly vanished and everyone seemed satisfied with their treats before strapping back into their seats.
"I'll have to replace your fruits in your suite" Loki said off handedly.
"No, I'll go and do it on Sunday" you shook your head.
"We shall see who gets to it first" Loki chuckled and you looked at him but he just gave you a kiss on the forehead and relaxed back in his seat.
