Hi guys!

This is a reeaalllyyyy long chapter, but it's essential to the story, so brace yourselves!

Here's the chapter.

"Foster!"

Sophie's eyes snapped open. Her breathing quickened as she searched for the owner of the voice. She knew who it belonged to, she knew him too well. Him, who had made her believe in love. Him, who had hurt her, who had made her want to claw her heart out.

"FOSTER!" The voice echoed through the room again.

Sophie stood up from her sitting position. She was in a dark room-no, it wasn't a room. She was in a maze.

The gigantic walls of the maze were covered in green vines with red roses. The roses were bleeding, dripping dark red liquid.

Screaming echoed through the walls. It seemed to vibrate them. Sophie's sudden fear made it seem as if the walls were toppling over to her, crushing her into pieces.

She gulped.

"Keefe?" Sophie asked the dark, her voice hoarse and weak. She had no idea why her whole body was aching. Sophie tried to recall how, where, and why she was here, but her brain failed to bring any memories back.

Blood rushed through her head, making her sway as she took a step forward. Sophie grabbed her head as a headache flared. She groaned in pain.

"Keefe!" Sophie screamed, suddenly scared of the maze.

Screams pierced through Sophie's ears like needles. She cowered in fear, her heart beating loudly in her chest.

Don't be a coward, Sophie. Keefe needs you. She told herself.

"KEEFE!"

The only response she got was Keefe's voice screaming in pain from the other side of the maze. Her thoughts clouded with fear, Sophie ran towards the voice. Her legs lagged behind, frozen in the cold. She forced them to move, knowing too well what was going to happen if she didn't.

The walls around her were a blur as Sophie ran through them. She did not know where she was going, she went anywhere her instincts told her to. She went left then right then forward.

Keefe's screaming echoed from her right.

"I'm coming!" Sophie yelled as she ran to her right. She zig-zagged through the maze, her heart pounding in her ears. Every step she took made a large thud, and Sophie was scared someone might hear the noise and find her.

After minutes of desperately running through the maze, she came across a clearing. Her heart dropped to her stomach as she saw what was happening in front of her.

Keefe laid unconscious on the ground, his shirt was soaked in his own blood. Lady Gisela was standing next to him, on her hand was a dagger.

The same dagger she had used to torture Sophie.

Lady Gisela turned her attention from Keefe to Sophie. She had an unsettling calm expression on her face.

"Why, hello former Moonlark." Gisela said, oblivious to Sophie's horror. Anger and fear were boiling inside Sophie. Her vision turned red as her pounding heart drained all the sound near her.

Lady Gisela had stabbed her own son.

"YOU MONSTER!" Sophie screamed as she unleashed her burning anger towards Gisela. Sophie imagined her anger being black liquid, pooling next to Gisela, choking her, drowning her.
