Luckily, the boat came back thanks to the water waves "oh we're not gonna die!" Sokka grabbed the tip of the boat and brought it closer to him "Come on let's go home" Phoenix looked across over at Katara, she had a concern expression on her face "We need to help him" Phoenix agreed to what Katara had said "woah woah woah" Sokka had his hand out "what are you doing?" He was confused why Katara was holding the weird's boy hand "You're not thinking of leaving him?" Katara looked up at her brother. Phoenix analyzed the blue arrow that was painted on the bald kids head, it had designs of lines inside of the arrow, she picked up his hand, the same blue arrow pointing a different direction. The arrows had to mean something or it was just a bad tattoo, but the thing was he looked ten.
"Hmm" She hummed to herself while the two siblings argued, she didn't pay attention because she was focused on the boy. "I still think this is a bad idea" Sokka mumbled to himself when he carried the boy on the small wooden boat "He looks harmless" Phoenix rolled her eyes at the overprotective boy "He came out of a iceberg!" he shouted with his hands out in the air "with a big blue arrow on his big, melon head" He put his hand back on the oar and paddled "Maybe it's a tattoo" Phoenix suggested "I don't think he's old enough for that" Katara looked in her direction "What else could it mean?" Her green eyes met the light brown eyes of Katara "I don't know, maybe he'll tell us when he gets up"
When they made it back to where everyone else was, the three put the boy in an igloo on a bed with animal fur underneath. Multiple people surrounded the boy "he looks dead" One said while staring at him. Kanna went inside of the cold small place "let me take a look" The old lady made her way to the boy, she pulled down the blanket and saw the boy's yellow clothing "it can't be" Kanna quietly said in disbelief "what is it?" Phoenix looked at Kanna "Gran Gran?" Katara asked when her grandmother stayed quiet "this is an Airbender" Phoenix eyes got wide when the news came out, she couldn't believe it. A young boy was an avatar? How could that be?
"Airbender's don't exist anymore" Sokka spoke up "We need to let him rest" Katara spoke, the crowd of people got out of the small igloo so the boy could peacefully sleep "There's no way he's an Airbender" Phoenix said when she walked out of the igloo, "It's impossible" Sokka sighed "what if he is though?" Phoenix asked. There hasn't been an Airbender in years, so why would one randomly show up from an iceberg explosion? It didn't make sense.
"He can't be" Sokka looked in front of him, there were three children playing around and one tripped on the floor, he sighed before he left to check if the kid was alright. Phoenix walked away from everyone else, her hair blew in the cold breeze as she stomped her foot in the snow. She finally found an area where no one was around, she sat on the snow and raised her hand up towards her face, a small fire flame came out from her hand. She took a deep breath as she watched the flame dance around on her palm from the wind "Phoenix?" Katara called out, Phoenix quickly blew the fire out before Katara could see.
"What are you doing out here by yourself?" Katara looked down at the floor where she was sitting "I was... meditating" Phoenix lied to her friend, of course she didn't want to but she had to. She put her hands on the ground to help her up so she could stand up "Have you seen Sokka?" "He was checking up on a kid who fell down" She informed, Katara bit her lip "how about the weird boy?" Pheonix scratched the back of her neck with a shrug "Maybe he woke up or Sokka did something?" Katara sighed, smoke coming out from her mouth thanks to the cold weather.
"Let me help you find him" Phoenix caught up with Katara "I didn't know you liked to meditate" Katara turned her head to see her red headed friend "Oh yeah" She blew air from her mouth "Its relaxing" Phoenix used to meditate and do yogo after she trained back at the Fire Nation, Zuko would always make fun of her but eventually he joined in with the yoga, it did help relax him.
"do you see that?" Phoenix put her hand above her eyebrow, she didn't want the snow to fall on her eyes "What?" Katara looked up in the air "The boy is flying" Katara started to run the direction where the arrow head boy was flying, Phoenix tried to hardest to keep up but she was trailing behind.
"ouch!" Phoenix covered both of her ears with her hands when a loud whistling noise was heard, it sounded similar to a dog whistle, high pitched. Phoenix finally found Katara and Sokka, they were both standing in front of the boy "You really need to stop running" Her hands were on her knees and she bent down, trying to catch her breath "Have you seen Appa?" The boy questioned "Who?" Her eyes landed on the boy "Appa. My sky bison?" She raised her eyebrows "Six legs, horns.. brown arrows?"
Phoenix stood up straightly "No I have not" She answered truthfully, she never heard of a sky bison, let alone named Appa. A little time later, a large furry creature flew across the sky, it was white and had horns on top of its ears "I'm assuming that's Appa" It matched the description the boy was talking about "Appa!" He ran to his pet when it landed on the ground. Phoenix tilted her head to the right, Appa looked kinda cute, or at least in her opinion.
