"oh wow! Your water bending has gotten really good" Phoenix complimented Katara, who was moving a trail of water through her hands, a few moments later it splashed her face "I wish I was better" She frowned "don't worry, you'll get better overtime" Phoenix patted her shoulder "It took me forever to learn firebending" Kataras frown turned into a smile "that made me feel better" "I hope it did" Katara looked behind Phoenix, which confused her "what?" She asked, Katara whispered back "its Sai" The caused Phoenix to turn around, Sai walked around by himself, he had a small slip of paper in his hand "come on"
Phoenix peaked behind a pile of clothes that were hanging on a string to cool off, Sai gave a person wearing dark red the paper he had, Katara got up from the floor to see what he was doing but luckily, a man grabbed her hand. Phoenix turned around and saw a familiar face, the one that helped them go inside Omashu.
"fire nation spies" He pointed In front, the guy Sai handed something to hands started to go on fire "wait- why is he giving them papers?" Phoenix asked the boy, who seems to know a lot about the situation "he's a traitor." He answered quickly.
The fire bender spy who wore all red walked away from sigh, his hood up in his face so no one could see who he could possibly be. The stranger got up from the ground "Come on" He ordered, Phoenix stood up so did Katara.
They all carefully followed the spy with caution, Phoenix ducked when the man turned his head "shit" She mumbled to herself "the mechanist has been working for the fire nation, building devices, selling secrets." He informed both of the girls, Phoenix felt uneasy with the new information she was given, Sai generally seemed nice but maybe not so much.
"Sokka and Aang... they're in danger." Katara looked over at Phoenix with worry all over her face "we need to warn them" Katara got up, but the stranger grabbed her arm to stop her "they'll be fine. The mechanist may be a turncoat, but he's a coward. He'd never take any direct action..." He took off his brown coat, to reveal a new outfit that included armor. The bag he carried had two shinny weapons "wait" Katara called out for him "who are you?" She asked, he stopped in his tracks "they call me Jet" He ran off "lets follow him" Phoenix suggested, they both ran after Jet.
They ended up in a forest, in front was the secret fire nation guy. "Your pursuit was so clumsy, I wasn't sure you'd ever catch up" He spoke with his hands behind his back "big talk to someone who's outnumbered" He swung the metal weapons he had in both of his hands "good thing I brought friends then" Two men who wore Earth colors came out behind a tree, they both yelled while they ran to Jet.
Phoenix ran to a guy who knocked Jet down by kicking his ankle, she dodged his punch that tried to hit her face, instead she was the one to make a punch to his eyes, making him fall on the ground in pain. Phoenix ran back to Jet and Katara, both of their backs touching one another. Jet put his hands on his mouth and made a bird call "What are you doing?" Phoenix questioned the black haired teen "Oh yeah I bought friends too" A big and tall man walked behind one of the spies and hit him in the back of the hat with a wooden bat, knocking him down "holy shit!" Phoenix yelled in surprisement. His friends successfully defeated the men, until another man appeared "you really think you could defeat us?" He laughed, his grey beards moving along with his jaw.
"Knifecutter!" Jet yelled loudly, a man with a brown bandanna around his face came from the trees, he threw a sharp knife at the man, it stabbed into his knee, making the fire bender grunt while holding his bloody knee "great job" Jet told the stranger "yup" Knife cutter went to the bloody man and took out his knife from the knee, making the fire bender scream in pain before he knocked him out.
"That was a mean swing, Pipqueak" Jet looked over to the tall guy "It's great to have a water bender on our side" The girl with short hair walked up to Katara "and its great to have a girl with great comeback" The one wearing the brown bandanna winked his eyes that had dark eyeliner on "Well- I wouldn't say I'm the great-" Phoenix spoke up "Are you crazy? That was amazing." Knifecutter said before he followed the short boy "who are you people?" Katara asked Jet "We're the good guys."
