Phoenix sat on Appa, her hands slightly petting his white fur. She was waiting for the others, Katara and Aang were training with water bending and Sokka was talking with Suki before he had to leave. Phoenix reached over to her black bag and opened it, she took out the fire flame shaped necklace with a smile.
"I got you something" Zuko rushed into her room with his hands behind his back "don't tell me its a fistful of flames" Phoenix joked to the boy, making him laugh "it's not, trust me." He took a step closer to the girl with a smile "here" He handed her a black square box, with curiosity she opened it, only to reveal a beautiful necklace with a orange and yellow pendant "you finished your first training lesson" Phoenix looked up at the happy boy, she ran and hugged him tightly "thanks, Zuko" She said when she pulled away "don't tell my father about this- you know how he will react" Phoenix nodded her head "promise" She held out a pinkie "promise" His pinkie wrapped around hers.
"Ready to go?" Katara hopped on Appa with Sokka and Aang behind, Phoenix quickly put her necklace in her pockets "Of course- you guys took long enough" Katara sighed "sorry-" "it's okay." Aang sat on Appa's head "to Omashu!" He yelled before Appa took off, flying blissfully in the air.
Phoenix looked over at Sokka, his eyes staring at the fan Suki had gave him before he left "I liked her too" Katara spoke up "yeah she was cool" Phoenix nodded in agreement "of course, I have no idea what she saw in you" Phoenix laughed loudly when Katara said that "hey what's not to like?" He questioned "I mean you talk a lot...." Sokka looked in the direction of the fire bender "I do not." He denied with a hint of annoyance in his voice "she's not wrong-" Katara said, agreeing with the red head. "stop hating on me!"
"Look!" Aang yelled, making everyone get up from the leather on Appa to see what Aang was yelling for "I think I see another Airbender!" He yelled in happiness, there was a figure flying in the air "I thought you were the last?" Phoenix asked and looked down at Aang "maybe i'm not!" He was happy he might be another Airbender alive, but there was a slight possibility it wasn't an airbender. "he's headed to that mountain" Sokka pointed out "that's no mountain. That's Omashu! Appa yip yip!" Aang made Appa go faster, Phoenix sat back down as it went faster, she did not want to fall off. "Momo come here" She snapped her fingers at the flying creature, he looked over at her before landing on her lap.
A few moments later, Appa landed on the ground. "sorry Momo" She picked his little body up from her lap and put him down, his mouth turned into a frown "i'll come back for you" She pet his small head before hopping off of Appa. "what is that was another Airbender?" Phoenix asked while she walked with the three "Then I will finally fit in" Aang said with a smile, she felt bad he was alone in the world but at least he had his friends. "Omashu was carved out of a living mountain. It's one of the wonders of the Earth Kingdom... of the world actually" Aang informed, he gave other fun facts about the place that did interest Phoenix.
"woah" Left her mouth as she saw the beautiful view of the place, the high mountain was covered in buildings of all sorts. While walking to the village, there was someone yelling "you again? What did I tell you before?" One of the guards kicked a guy down to the floor, afterwards something fell into the water. "they don't take kindly to outsiders in Omashu" A guy spoke, his hair was in a ponytail and he wore brown colors "what makes you think we're outsiders?" Aang asked, Katara and Sokka looked down at their clothes "dumb question Aang" Phoenix told him.
"No reason" The man lied before heading off "wait!" Katara called out for him, causing him to stop "we're new here, but we have a friend we need to see... we just could use a little help getting inside." His smiled "There should be some clothes in the back" Everyone went to the back of the thing he was riding on, Phoenix put on a brown dress on top of her light blue clothes, Katara sat Infront with the boy, Sokka was in the back with Phoenix and Aang.
"Hold there" A guy had his hand held out, telling them to stop. "state your business" "Head to market, as usual. Oh, wasn't a great crop this month." He pointed to Katara "she told me I wasn't watering the turnips enough. Knew there was a reason I married her" Katara smiled "Irrigation, am I right?"
Sokka got up from the back "M-my brother in law would agree if he could speak. Struck mute at birth." Sokka looked disappointed before sitting back down, Phoenix tried her best not to laugh. "You'd be amazed at how much he can say without words- Just the other day he made us laugh so hard-" "Alright that's enough. Move along-" The guard got impatient with the boy, so they let him in.
The other two guards opened the entrance, moving the giant rock out of the way. The place was crowded, there were many shops with people shopping and walking "There sure is a lot of people here" Phoenix commented "yup" Phoenix got off of the thing, she took off the brown dress afterwards "Good luck finding your friend and be careful. Omashu can be a dangerous place.
