"Hi Mama, where's mommy?" Blue asked me as she got into the back seat. "She had an important phone call to deal with so she's still at the house. How was your time with the demons?" I asked her as I pulled off after she put her seatbelt on. She giggled, "My aunties are not demons mama. Well, maybe auntie Chance whenever her fabric rips during sewing but it was fun" she told me.
I hummed as I began to drive towards the direction of the house.
"Mama?" Blue asked. "Yeah Bug?" I asked her, keeping my eyes on the road. "I was talking to Auntie Coco and she told me that she's the only one that doesn't have multiple siblings besides you and auntie Chance. Does that mean you have other siblings?" She asked me. I twisted my nose up, "yeah I have a little brother but I don't talk to him and I rather keep it that way" I told her.
I hated talking about that bad ass nigga. Our mother feeds into his idea of being this street guy like our father and doesn't see anything wrong with it.
"What's his name?" She asked and I sighed, "Tariq, he's only a year older than Chance but we live two different pathways" I told her. She didn't ask any more questions as I guess she could tell that I didn't want to talk about him.
We began talking about all sorts of things during the short ride home. Blue told me all about the idea of her writing songs and trying to learn different dance techniques to expand her horizons. I told her all about my grandmother and even told her a bit about her grandfather.
The good things, that is.
When we made it to the house, we both got out and walked into the house. Beyoncé was still sat at her spot on the couch with her computer in her lap just typing away. Just as she was nearly five hours ago.
"Houston, I know you haven't been sitting in this same spot for nearly five hours?" I said a little irritated causing her to jump and look back. Blue dropped her bag on the couch and mushed her self onto her mother as she hugged her close. "Hi mommy" Blue told her. "Hi baba, I missed you sooooo much" Bey told her as she kissed her head repeatedly.
I let them have their moment as I moved towards the kitchen to grab a water bottle. When I came back, Blue was gone and Bey was closing her laptop and putting it back in her case before placing all her papers inside of her binder.
"Did you eat?" I asked her. She nodded, "I made a sandwich and stole one of your protein smoothies" she told me and I fake glared at her. "Don't be taking my stuff girl" I told her with a playful look and she giggled. She then got off the couch and walked towards me before wrapping her arms around my torso. I hugged her back, making sure my cold water bottle didn't touch any exposed skin.
