"Ms. Knowles, Shawn Carter is downstairs with his lawyer. Do you want me to send them up?" My assistant asked through the loud speaker. I sighed and pressed the button, "yeah, thanks Amanda" I told her. I waited patiently, typing away on my computer for them to come up.
Shawn was finally coming so I can get over this shit. I wanted to be removed from anything associated with Shawn Corey Carter. He decided to put his big boy pants on and go through with how we should split our assets.
There was a knock at the door and I told them to come in. Their Shawn and his lawyer was with Julius behind them. He gave me and my lawyer a nod before shutting the door.
The lawyers greeted each other while Shawn and I just stared at each other. I didn't have jack shit to say to this man. We all sat across from each other. Shawn staring dead at me and me not paying him attention. The room was already thick with tension. All I wanted to do was observe and speak when I needed to.
"So before the trial date in a few weeks, we need to settle who gets what. Obviously you both will have your separate record labels and all the assets will go to its designated person. Ms. Knowles here doesn't care for the house or anything else so all of that can go to Mr. Carter if he pleases" My lawyer started.
"What about Blue?" Shawn asked and I raised an eyebrow. My lawyer looked at me before looking back at him. "Blue isn't apart of this. Ms. Knowles already made it clear that she will be the main parent" he told them. Shawn sat up a bit in his seat, "My name is on everything involving her, I can put up a fight for full custody if that's what you want, Beyoncé" Shawn said.
I sat up more in my seat too with a relaxed look on my face.
"Blue is at the age where she can choose who she wants to be with. Considering you aren't her other parent anyway, I'm pretty sure we both know who she will choose" I told him. "Who's to say the judge will even consider asking her?" Shawn's lawyer asked.
I rolled my eyes and sat back, letting my lawyer handle that. For a lawyer, that's a dumbass question. I mean cmon, she's eleven, not five. Of course the judge will give her a chance.
"Blue Ivy is old enough to be on the stands herself. If she wants to, the judge will ask her who she chooses. Considering what Ms. Knowles has told me—" he paused, gazing at me a bit before looking back at a clearly irritated Shawn, "it's obvious who she will choose when the time comes" he told them.
I wasn't listening to whatever was said after that. Shawn and his lawyer were battling with things with my lawyer while I was texting my sisters. Everyone knew about my meet up with Shawn and wanted to make sure I hadn't lashed out on my near ex-husband yet. I told them I was being calm and collected throughout the encounter.
