Matt's POV
"Matt she wouldn't." Sophie said.
I looked at her. "You didn't hear her voice."
I was pacing, pacing across their living room, I couldn't sit still. I had to find Ana.
How the fuck was I going to find Ana in a city this big?
"Honestly Matt." Sophie said.
I wished she'd shut up, unless she had something useful to say.
"Sophie I need to find her and I need to find her now." I said, still pacing. "She's my wife, god she's my life, my everything."
She was my everything and I couldn't do this, do life without her, she'd been by my side for years.
"I know."
I was thinking, thinking of ways to find her and I was going to drive myself insane.
"The bank." Brian suddenly said.
"What?"
"The bank, call the bank, maybe she's used her credit card."
"Jesus." I cried, grabbing my phone. "You're a fucking genius."
I dialed while Brian sat there looking proud of himself.
I had to enter some account details, but finally, after what seemed like forever, a real person spoke.
"Oh hey." I said. "Um I seemed to have misplaced my credit card."
"Would you like me to cancel it for you?"
"Well has it been used?" I asked.
I listened as she clicked away on her keyboard.
"Actually yes Sir, it's been used today."
"Where?" I asked.
"Excuse me?"
"Where was it used?" I asked, making myself clear.
"Oh, one moment." More keyboard clicking. "The Beachside Hotel, Newport Beach."
I hung up, heading for the door.
"Matt?" Sophie called.
"She's in Newport."
"Go, Charlotte will be fine."
I nodded, running to my car. I jumped in and had to take a moment to calm myself.
I took a deep breath and started driving. I was doing everything I could not to speed, I needed to get to Ana and I hoped I wasn't too late. Surely I would feel something if something had happened to her?
Thank goodness the traffic was pretty light and it didn't take me long to get there.
I pulled over and put the hotel in my GPS, I had no idea where it was. All the while I could hear a ticking in my head, the ticking of time I was wasting since I'd spoken to her on the phone.
According to the GPS it was less than five minutes away and I drove there as quick as I could.
I drove into the parking area and the first thing I noticed was Ana's car. She was here, I only needed to find out what room.
I headed inside to the desk and stood there patiently while a couple checked in. It seemed to take forever.
"Sir?"
Finally.
"Oh hey hi, I'm meant to be meeting my wife here, but she um, must have fell asleep because she's not answering her phone and now I don't know what room to go too."
I sounded so lame.
"Name?" She asked.
"Oh, Anastacia Sanders."
She clicked away on her keyboard, everyone was clicking those fuckers today.
"Room 26."
Oh thank lord.
"Um, how can I get in?"
"Do you have ID?"
I nodded pulling out my wallet and handing her my license. She looked at it then made a copy, handing me back my license and a room card.
"It's on the second floor Mr Sanders, enjoy your stay."
I nodded attempting to smile. I tried to casually leave the office area but as soon as I was out I started running.
I ran past the elevator, opting for the stairs and I took those two at a time.
I threw open the door to the second floor, looking at the sign on the wall telling me which direction 26 was.
Left.
I ran until I reached the door.
"Ana?" I called, knocking.
Nothing, no reply.
I reached out and slid the card in the door. I heard the click as it unlocked.
I grabbed the handle, praying to god in my head that my baby would be alright.
I opened the door and stopped.
