"You're such a f*cking bastard!"

Right after he said it, Austin blew my face a punch. Just like the usual, our heated argument quickly turned physical. I gave my younger brother a glare, ran towards him, and grabbed his damn collar.

"You punched me just because dad complimented me in front of other people?!" I spat as I tasted the blood from my mouth.

"Because you're a two-faced bastard!

"I am not like you!" I voiced emphatically.

With so much force, he pushed me and gave me another punch. My vision went blurry so I shook my head. When I was about to punch him, the door swung opened.

"Winston! "Anong ginagawa niyo?

"We're not doing this now, Austin," Mom said, and she tried her best not to shout. "I didn't plan this trip for you to ruin it."

"So it's me again?" he asked. "Bakit hindi niyo sisihin 'yang magaling niyong anak?" Lumingon siya sa'kin.

"Enough, Austin!" Mom said hardly.

Austin's mouth shut in an instant, seemed words afraid to come out of his mouth. It was as if our father planted a bomb behind our backs, ready to explode in one press.

Whenever Dad would call or talk to me, my knees would literally tremble in fear. His booming voice and intimidating presence made me extremely nervous, and I always made sure to sit up straight and pay close attention when he was talking.

"You better fix yourself," Mom said to Austin, and then she shifted her gaze at me. "And you, stay here.

If I was fuckin' out of mind, I would definitely blurt rude things to her. She should check on me and volunteer to apply something in my wound, but just like what my brother said, she's more concerned with their visitor than her own children. What a fucked up life!

"Let's go, Austin," called Mom.

My brother gave me a final glare before leaving the room. It's not the first time Austin jabbed me with his fist. It happened most of the time.

Family supposed to make you feel safe, but sometimes, it's the source of the deepest heartache. I wanted to express my anger through words, but I didn't have a habit of expressing my feelings to anyone.

I took the bottle of red wine from the table and filled my glass. After having a sip, I let out a heavy breath. I tried making myself calm, but the painful words that imprinted in my mind by my mom, dad, and brother won't leave my head.
