Opening Ringo's paper crane added another weight in my chest. Something was written on it, similar to what I had read from the previous paper crane that I got from him. He was asking for help, but how would I help someone who didn't want to speak for the truth.
"Just watch the road and drive."
"Okay," said Austin and smirked.
Actually, Mom and Dad forced him to drive for me. Austin complained at first, but he agreed in the end.
I was fully aware that Ringo had a problem, but I also knew he had no intention of telling me the truth.
Our travel took hours, causing me to fall asleep. Even in my dreams, I kept seeing Ringo. I found myself in the midst of a terrifying nightmare about him. There was a big wave, washing Ringo away from me. I was trying to reach for his hand, but the water already pulled him deep down the sea. While suffering from a nightmare, someone shook me.
"Huy!" sabi ng isang boses, dahilan ng mabilis kong pagdilat.
"Austin?" I spoke. "What happened?"
"You're having a nightmare," he answered.
I pressed my head, trying to remember everything in my head. The feeling of fear from my dream slowly faded away, and I was relieved to find myself back in reality.
"By the way, nandito na tayo sa San Miguel," sambit niya kaya napalingon ako sa labas ng sasakyan.
As I watched the sea from a distance, I could smell the salty air. The familiar scent of the seawater instantly brought back the memories of my last vacation. The waves crashing against the shore reminded me of how I fell in-love with Ringo.
"Magtanong tayo kapag may madaanan tayong tindahan."
"Noted," he responded.
After a few more kilometers, we saw a small store along the way, near the gasoline station.
Austin turned his head to me, giving me the moment to ask.
